Chibi-Usa grumbled. This is truly revolting! she groused in her head. A second childhood is bad enough; being a girl is a pain; but if the Queen My Mother gets me another nursemaid or nanny instead of a martial arts sensei, I... will... SCREAM!
She then looked over toward her current sitter and smirked slightly. The woman was holding a tiny, blanket-wrapped bundle. On a more positive note, she admitted to herself, it seems that I've finally got some control over the Neko-ken! Who woulda' thought that Mau actually created it?
The woman looked up at her and smiled. "Come and look, Small Lady. My own little one has finally figured out how to do it."
The pink haired toddler, who was rapidly earning a reputation of being 'slightly less princessly than should she should be,' - in public that is; in private, Haruka once admitted, "That girl would scare Beryl straight!" - made her slow way over to the seated woman, silently cursing her still unsteady gate. "Diana gonna become little girl?" she asked.
Luna, smiling gently at her small charge, nodded. "I think so, Small Lady," she replied. "It won't be for long at first, mind. She needs to practice each day, much like you need to practice your 'play-fighting'." She added, under her breath, "And Serenity help me, how you ever got that, I'll never ask."
Chibi-Usa arrived at her destination, just as the bundle in the human-seeming Mau's lap twitched and grew into...
...a near-duplicate of herself, with purple hair and violet eyes and a pair of twitching cat's ears.
Luna looked down and paled. There seemed to be an instantaneous connection between the girl with the cat-like soul and the kitten with a human-like mind. In a pair of blurs, she suddenly found herself alone in the nursery, staring at an empty blanket and a string of discarded clothes.
Just before she hit the panic-button that was closest to her chair. She spoke her mind.
"Shit. Usagi's going to spay me for this, I know it..."
Neo-Queen Serenity was tending to affairs of state, when the quiet conversation was shattered by a wailing siren and a sourceless voice.
+ CODE PINK! CODE PINK! THE PRINCESS IS ON THE LOOSE! +
The now-mature Lunar monarch looked to the vaulted ceiling and growled. "Endymion, love?" she said in an even voice.
Her husband, his head in his hands, was quick with the response. "I know. But flogging Haruka won't help. She was reading Ami's script for the alert system."
Her response was interrupted by a massive crash from the other end of the room. Her head snapped down, and took in the carnage.
First was a stunned Makoto, in her Senshi uniform, spralled out in the entryway of the throne room. On top of her, wrestling, were two naked girls, one of which suddenly shrank into the form of a kitten with pinkish-purple fur and stopped fighting to start grooming herself. The other, a pink-haired spitfire, also stopped and folded her arms across her chest in a minature parody of the woman on the throne.
There was a long silence.
Then the queen said one word, that caused the entire building to vibrate like a crystal gong.
"LUNA!"
Two miles from the Palace, Artemis was sitting in a bar beside Haruka. He turned to her and raised his glass. "A toast to it being our weeks off!"
The short-haired blonde totched her own to his. "Hear, hear!"
