Chibi-Usa stared at her partner-in-crime. "Hey, Diana?" she asked in a small voice.
The kitten paused in her grooming. "Yeah, Chibi-chan?"
The 'Pink Nightmare of the Crystal Castle' pointed off to the side. "Can you break us out of here?" Her pudgy little hand indicated the dome of crystal shafts that enclosed the 'play area' that the pair was currently in.
The immature Moon Cat looked for a moment, then went back to attending to her fur. "Nope. Momma blocked controls."
The princess stuck up her nose. "Fooey!" she humphed.
In the safest place of all, a meeting was taking place.
Pluto sat at a black marble desk that she had commissioned for just such an encounter. The pin-spotlights were positioned at the edges in such a way that she was able to pull off a passible female 'Gendo Ikari' impression. "So what are we meeting here for?"
From around her, several of the monoliths began to yell out impreciations. Most were centered around her possible sanity.
She dropped her hands and glared at the nine apparent slabs of black granite. "Tough titties, boy and girls," she growled. "My party, my theme."
The monolith marked with a crescent moon growled. "At least turn on the room lights, Setsuna!" the Queen snarled.
Setsuna sighed, then dropped a finger to the desk. "I finally loosen up and everybody else gets uptight," she muttered. In a bright flash, the apparent situation changed.
Seated around the ten-sided room were the protectors of the solar system. None of them looked especially happy. A few of them, - notably Makoto, Minako and Michiru, - appeared to be rather battered. The others only appeared to have been losing large amounts of sleep.
Setsuna blinked. "It looked better my way," she admitted.
Ami yawned. "We were getting sleepy," she countered. "If we nod off, nothing will get done."
Haruka snarled at her. "What's with the little hellion?" she asked bluntly.
The Neo-Queen cleared her throat. "She is my daughter, Haruka," the regal - and exausted - woman noted.
The Outer Senshi merely crossed her arms. "Am I wrong?" she argued.
Serenity bobbed her head. "You do have a point, Haru-kun." She then turned her head and speared her eldest advisor with a gimlet gaze. "So explain, Setsuna."
The emerald-maned woman grinned. "This is Chibi-Usa, as she should be," she chuckled.
A unified moan was her response.
She then tracked her eyes around the room and gave each of them a warm smile. "Don't worry," she assured them. "She will grow out of this."
Heartened with this news, the others sighed soulfully and left, alone and in pairs. Once everyone else had exited the room, the Senshi of Time reached into a drawer in her desk and pulled out a bottle of 'Galaxia-Strength' moonshine. Throwing back a slug of liquor strong enough to be used as jet fuel, she allowed herself to slump into the chair. "By Serenity," she sighed. "I didn't think they would buy it."
A male voice came from the foot area of the desk. "So, Setsuna," Artemis asked, "just how bad is it?"
Setsuna replied evenly. "I'd rather tease Neherlina."
Twin gulps answered her.
