At the moment of the reality crash, some of the senshi had been close enough to grasp onto each other in panic. In the case of Ami and Makoto, this proved troublesome as their senshi magics flared up instinctively to protect them as they fell through reality. The raw power from the two flared in response to protect them, but unfortunately that while the mixing of magic already is a hazardous proposition for most, the scale of power the two senshi wielded made things even uglier.
So things came to a head as twin comets of emerald and sapphire crossed, and the force of the mystical energies surrounding both clashed and meshed as the two senshi tried to draw near to each other. Even as the two individuals' energies sparked together, that section of space, which had been a particularly nice and peaceful one in the grand scale of things, suddenly went negative.
Darkness gave way to light and up went down for the two girls as they were violently propelled from one another, heat licking their backs as they were hurled to different sections of their new universe. In their wake a swirling miasma of plasma and mana ignited, and a new star was born.
