X, Zero, and Alia watched as Lifesaver slowly and painstakingly went over the female reploid. She was an enigma, they couldn't dig up any information on her, save for a few scattered mentionings of the name in old stories from before X had been discovered. Finally, after hours of work, Lifesaver stepped out of the room.
"How is she Lifesaver?" Alia asked almost immediately.
"She's mostly repaired, the rest is minor internal problems, and her self-repair systems are handling it fine now that she has a fresh supply of power. She should be up and about by morning. However, I must state that she had the most extensive damage I've ever seen in a living reploid. It's amazing she survived long enough to be found, and it also explains how people could think she was dead." He replied.
"I guess we'd better post some guards, in case she turns out to be unfriendly." Zero stated, looking towards Lina with a rather puzzled look on his face.
"Waking up to armed guards is just as likely to make her hostile, if not moreso. I'll watch over her, and if things turn bad, I'll call for assistance." Alia interrupted quickly, a look of concern on her face, "I mean, how would YOU react if you woke up with people ready to shoot you?"
Lina dreamt, she was flying down some sort of corridor, screaming off a name she couldn't make out. Some odd, spiderlike robots got in her way, she reduced them to molten slag, as well as the door in her way. Suddenly, she was in a large room, and there he was, a shadowed male figure. She threw off a blast, then suddenly everything was pain.
She suddenly sat up, screaming out, artificial tears streaming down her face, quickly waning panic quite evident. Noticing Alia getting out of the chair she'd been sitting in, Lina thrust one of her hands forward, palm towards her.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Lina demanded, taking in her surroundings.
"I'm Alia, and you're in the Maverick Hunters base, you were pretty beaten up when we found you." Answered the blonde reploid, a kind look on her face, "We brought you back here to repair you."
Lowering her hand, Lina looked around, then asked, "Maverick Hunters? Who are they?"
Alia sighed, then began to explain all that had happened with Reploids, Sigma, and the Maverick Virus.
Zero and X stood waiting outside the room, with Zero pacing back and forth with an obvious look of irritation on his face while X leaned against a wall, a look of curiosity on his face.
"Alright Zero, what's going on? I've never really seen you like this." X asked, causing Zero to stop his pacing and look at X.
"What's going on? What she's doing is completely unsafe, that's what." He snapped.
"No, I know you, that's not the reason, something's bugging you deep down inside."
"Alright, I just... have this feeling about her, like I know her from somewhere, that, and a feeling that she's trouble."
X nodded, thinking on this before an exclamation rang out of the room.
"And that was the end of the incident with the Jacob Project." Alia stated as she finished telling of recent events.
Lina, however, had been stuck in a thoughtful expression for a while, and merely nodded as she absorbed the information. Something was obviously nagging her mind. Where had she heard that name before? X...
"That's IT! Mom mentioned that old man Light had made a new kind of robot, and named it X!" She blurted out loud. Suddenly X and Zero ran into the room, and shared astonished expressions with Alia.
"What? Was it something I said?"
