Tsukino Usagi started in her sleep, like she'd been shot. And rolled over. And opened her eyes.
She was fourteen years old.
There were no tears. Not yet.
**Year 1
She rescued Luna at the beginning of the school year, in the spring, and found Mercury, Mars and Jupiter in quick succession. Venus couldn't be contacted at the moment - not without having to make awkward explanations to Luna and the others, anyway - but she wasn't going to push it. She and the white cat would arrive on time, she was sure.
"Usagi-chan. Usagi-chan, are you sure of this?"
"Now is the very best time, Rei-chan, Ami-chan, Mako-chan...Luna."
Yes, now. When Mettalia was just barely beginning to come out of it's slumber, and Beryl and her Dark Generals were quite literally at less then a fraction of their potential power...
Even Mr Mask'd and Tuxedo'd had put on a direct appearance, much earlier then in the other future she remembered. Not that he was sure how much he could do, at this point...
Not to mention the Beryl factor. Ulp. Or more like the Beryl and Endymion factor.
Which she'd better not think of, here and now...
They fought Jedite, and when he disappeared, Nephrite. Usagi managed to keep track of him by keeping track of Naru, not that she told any of her friends that. Hmmm. Interesting... Where those two always to have that...connection?
And Nephrite died in Naru's defense, and he had in another timeline, and then there was Zoicite. A shame, that. She'd been wondering if there was some way of "turning" Nephrite or something...
Ahh, it couldn't be helped. And Naru-chan was going out with Umino now. Who was a nice kid, really.
Then Zoicite was gone, and a coldly furious Kunzite was gunning for their throats. Ha, it was as she thought - not even a mere fraction of his potential power, not at this point in time -
They won. Moon had managed to go Princess in time.
They won, but...
Were was Tuxedo Mask?
Usagi knew, deep down. She just didn't want to.
And it ended at D-Point anyway, her loved ones dying before her, yes, Venus too, fighting, fighting to the bitter end...
And it ends again, with Sailor Moon cradling the Silver Crystal to her chest.
Her wish was...
...Her wish...was...
**Year 2
They were all still alive. Even the ones who she'd seen dead.
How very odd. ...But maybe not.
It was nice to have her memories back, and her friends memories back too - not to mention all their powers! - but...
It seems like her wish had decided that they were all to redo being 14 (or 15) again. Sigh. Oh, whatever, whatever.
At least the Silver Crystal wasn't totally out of energy, this time around. Though it wasn't at full power, whatever that was, by any means...
And anyway...just what were these new Enemies?
This was the year that they fought the Doom Tree. And Ail. And Ann. Who had tried to - to pretend they were her friends.
Who were just children.
It couldn't be helped, though. She couldn't let the Tree eat the World, sucking away all it's energy...
She couldn't.
It was only by accident that they discovered that what the Tree really needed was the energy of Love, and by that time, Ail and Ann were both dying by their hands, and...
The Tree lived, eating it's Children's love. And went away, into the Outer Dark.
Alone. Though it probably would produce more Children along the way...
They wouldn't be Ail. Or Ann.
**Year 3
She met Tennou Haruka and Kaiou Michiru again, this year. Which was nice. She also met somebody called Meiou Setsuna who was apparently their friend, which was nice, too.
Meeting the Heart-Crystal stealing monsters and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were not so pleasant, unfortunately.
They ended up fighting the Daimons and the Witches on one hand and Uranus and Neptune on the other.
"Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune - As the Moon Princess, I revoke all your powers as Senshi - "
Alright, so now that was a stupid move. She knew that now.
Uranus had just whooped and whooped in their faces, while Neptune looked dazed, and -
"Stupid little spoiled Princess, as if that was under your control! Even the Moon Queen couldn't strip a Senshi's powers away, didn't you know that!?"
As said before, that had been a stupid mistake. Not that it really mattered in the long one, even if Uranus and Neptune hadn't given her or any of the Inners the time of day after that, and even Pluto was barely speaking to them. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto had all died fighting Mistress 9, Pharoah 90 and assorted minions at the Mugen School complex, sealing down the Rift to the Tau sector with their last powers.
Which was a shame. Even if their Starseeds were safe, to make it back to the Solar System from Tau would take a very long time indeed...
Ahhh, well.
She waited around the festival that year, thinking perhaps Haruka-san or Michiru-san or Setsuna-san would make an appearance. She wanted Mamo-chan to meet them, actually... The others knew them already, of course.
They never came.
It really was a shame.
**Year 4
This was the year in which they fought the Dead Moon Circus. Which was not, repeat not, easy.
Things had begun small at first, monsters going a Dream-Mirror peeking, looking for the "pegasus" whatever that was, yadda yadda yadda. Though Mamoru had said it reminded him of something he'd maybe heard of a long time ago...
Things started to escalate when they managed to destroy "Fisheye" when "she" tried to get Mamoru's Dream-mirror. All of a sudden, the "Hawkeye" and "Tigereye" were operating as a team, going full force in a dream-energy stealing gig, going through swathes of human beings in the process.
They had won...but it had been a close thing.
And the old hag "Zirconia" had escaped. Which was not good.
The Pegasus had chosen Mamoru's Golden Crystal as a temporarily haven, but it couldn't last for ever...
**Year 5
This year marked the beginning of the end.
Zirconia had turned out to be Nepherenia of legend, the "Queen of the Dead Moon".
And she wanted Mamoru.
Why did almost all the baddies want Mamoru? Just because he was "Endymion"? Or was linked to the Golden Crystal?
She didn't know. Maybe she didn't want to.
Nepherenia was an homegrown Enemy. She belonged in the Solar System, and had roots here.
Roots which she used to drink dry the World, Nepherenia who had grown old but had never grown up...
Sailor Moon used the Crystal, in the end. She had no choice.
Make a wish, young lady. Make a wish.
