Shampoo shrugged slightly. "Not know exactly."
"How do you 'not know'?"
"When come from small village in mountains, not have very much in way of 'board games'. Only know what have seen, and this one look like fun. What 'Jumanji'?"
"It's this game that I've heard of that's supposed to have something strange about it, like special powers or something. All I really know is that it's this mysterious game about jungle adventures, so...."
"And how did you happen to hear about even that much, little sister?" Nabiki asked, raising a brow at the younger Tendo.
"How else? Word of mouth."
"Gossip?"
"More like 'urban legend'."
"Are you serious?" Ukyo crossed her arms over her chest. "Those stories always seem to be so out there."
"What you mean?" the Amazon asked.
"You know how there are stories that are passed down from ancient times, like the legends of great heroes?"
"Most definitely. Shampoo hear about many brave Amazons of past when growing up. And there lots of tales told about magic, monsters, and such."
"That's exactly the sort of thing that I mean. Well, there's a version of that which is told in cities. There are all sorts of stories that are told among people who live in places like this. Or the tales of people getting calls from people who'd just died."
"Sound a lot like tales told in village, only bit different. Only...."
The chef frowned at the Chinese girl. "What?"
"Is there really place where place gift for boy girl likes?"
"Even if there is, I wouldn't even think that it'd actually work. Besides, there are stories about one of those lockers cursing anyone who opens and looks into it to die. If something has that much attached to it, I wouldn't think that it would be usable."
Several girls sighed in disappointment.
"I don't know if I should be frightened, or not," Ukyo muttered.
Nabiki gave her a big smirk. "Trust me. It's at least best to worry."
"How wonderful."
"Shouldn't we get to the game, though?" Kasumi asked, clasping her hands together. "It wouldn't be nice to say that we're going to play with Shampoo's game, only to forget about it."
"I suppose that would be well enough," Kodachi murmured airily.
"At least Kasumi nice girl," Shampoo stated archly.
"Well then, let's see what this game really is like," Nabiki suggested, opening up the box of what turned out to be a game:
