Ranma nodded. That was the trick, it was like trying to bite back a sneeze. He didn't want to blow up the firepit, just light it up.
Cologne blinked at the roaring fire. "(Lilac? Take your time.)" She used her staff to hold the teapot in the flame, next to the section of wild boar meat.
Ranma licked his lips (which looked really silly as his tongue actually turned out to be long enough to reach his brow-ridge) in anticipation.
Genma started reaching for the boar.
FWAUM!
"Growf Growf Growf!" Genma started complaining about the smell of burning fur.
"It's a bird!"
"It's a plane!"
"No, it's... a giant rotating turtle shell with rocket exhausts coming out of the openings."
The crowd looked at the one who had spoken, then up again. Yup. Oh well.
Not noticing the crowd going back to business, Gamera-ryoga flew overhead on his quest for vengeance. Well, actually, he was flying over Albuquerque and heading towards Seattle, having missed the left turn that might have taken him to Japan.
Gojira-ranma ate, the crunching of bones making it a bit louder than normal. It also had the effect of slowing him down in his feasting.
VorBunny held onto the lizard's arm with her teeth, which apparently were tough enough to go through a number of substances but NOT Gojira. The effect was sort of like being given a pacifier.
The healers moved through the area, bandaging and splinting and applying poultices and giving out painkillers.
"(Oh merciful goddess, please oversee this poor panda and lead him to eternal rest.)"
"Growf," protested the really-bandaged-up panda, indicating he wasn't dead.
The healer, who had thick glasses (in her pocket) and was Mousse' mother, continued to perform last rites.
"(Elder Cologne?)" asked one bandaged Amazon as she used crutches to approach Cologne, "(we'd like to make a suggestion regarding your great-granddaughter.)"
