It watched as the new universe "settled into place" with all the playing pieces in their roles. Few of those present would have any hint that the world had changed - one of those being Ranma.
Ranma, frankly, needed all the help he could get.
So he was drawing on the skills of the native Ranma, whose mixed heritage and training made him exceptional even in this world. The native Ranma wouldn't have survived, his family and kingdom soon forgotten, and the Harmonium troops would have brought the treasure back to their ruler.
The Ranma of Nerima had the superior skills and confidence in matters of battle. The local Ranma was a rune mage.
The Kingdom of Siryon had been strong once, but Ranma's father and mother had pretty much indulged in a sybaritic lifestyle with all the details being taken care of by underlings who were more interested in labyrinthine politics and games amongst the aristocracy. Ranma had been sent off to study abroad, and on his few returns had impressed the common people far more than his two parents.
As soon as he'd heard of the destruction of his nation, he'd returned home to find the rumors hadn't even scratched the surface of what had been done here.
The Cube pulsed as it observed. This situation was stable as far as it went, but there were things that could set everything askew once again unless it was vigilant.
Of course, that Rune that Ranma had on his forehead that was mainly hidden by his bangs was going to give those problems some difficulties.
Siryon, Ranma remembered through his native self, was a kingdom of farmers. Main production was in what they called "aromatic woods" and various tree-borne fruit. It was hard to believe anyone would invade to control apple production.
Siryon was one of those kingdoms making up the "Nameless Kingdoms" on the maps. Which Ranma had thought was an insult until he realized that most of the boundaries on those maps hadn't even been updated in two hundred years. Well, that was 'old country' mentality - if you hadn't been around for centuries you might as well not exist.
Of course now he was looking at having to find allies and try to rebuild. Not easily done even with the hints.
Still, the Temple Of The Dawn Rune was just the place to start out with. If nothing else, just checking on a local temple was something that needed to be done.
