Post Third Impact: Considerations [Episode 168526]

by Kestral

Ranma knew Aya Matsumoto, for all that he'd never met her. He could see her in mirrors, even if he knew she wasn't really there.

Aya Matsumoto, granddaughter of Leiji, was dead and turned to goo. Anything that made her a discrete individual, her likes and hopes and dreams and dislikes and fears, everything petty and everything noble, it was all gone. Flushed away in whatever had occurred that early morning hour.

Except that whatever had happened, however it had happened, she was now haunting him. Sort of.

The whole situation was spooking Ranma something fierce. Not only the fact that there was a girl hanging around him sans body. The Silence itself had a presence that loomed and seemed to dominate whenever he wasn't making a lot of noise and busy at something.

Silence. Even the wind didn't want to make itself heard. On several occasions Ranma found himself hushing himself or looking guiltily about after making a loud noise such as dropping a pan.

In that quiet he tried to figure out his current situation but couldn't. If this had been a martial arts situation, he could have done so - as this was not only not a martial arts situation but involving words he couldn't even pronounce - he was completely flat-footed.

Aya was no help in that regard. She was normal in her grades and might be able to pronounce the words, she had very little grounding in these sorts of sciences.

The most likely thing was this NERV Tokyo thing, which was apparently taking place at some restricted lab place. If he was going to get any answers, that was where he'd have to go. The question was - would he even know what it was when he was looking at it?
