“Interesting ritual,” giggled Zatanna.
Nabiki blushed, not used to being teased about such matters.
“Well look at the bright side,” offered the magician. “With all that training, it might be a night to remember; especially with him having a female form for that long.”
Nabiki snorted. “With the way females have acted around him, I’d doubt he’s even bothered to ‘explore’ the package.”
“Really,” said Zatanna, leaning in. “Do tell. Come on, spill the gossip.”
Sighing, Nabiki began to explain the interactions between one Ranma Saotome and those of the opposite gender ... given their relations to that gender.
Green Arrow passed down the hallway, looking for Batman. The two were supposed to be working on some deal in their civilian companies, and he wanted to get it done while they had some downtime. Of course, seeing Dr. Fate standing in the hallway, leaning against the wall, did peak his interest. “I thought you were examining that girl with Zatanna.”
“I was.”
“What happened?”
“Girl talk.”
“Ah,” said Green Arrow. “Sure everything will be okay?”
“THEY DID WHAT?"
Dr. Fate sighed. “Looks like it’ll be a while. Want to grab some coffee?”
Green Arrow nodded, following the good doctor, and looking curiously at the door. “Maybe we should head planet-side. I think it’ll be safer.”
Ranma looked at the Guardians of Oa. “So you’re gonna trust me, just like that.”
“Green Lantern John Stewart had vouched for your character, and we trust his judgment.”
“As such,” said another Guardian, “the basic programming of that ring would not have bonded with you had it not determined that you had a pure heart.”
“Okay,” nodded Ranma. “I’ll try and not let you guys down.”
Nodding, they continued. “As such, we have the first mission for you ready.”
“Kind of quick,” said John. “Shouldn’t he have training with his new powers first?”
“That may be accomplished on this mission with your assistance as well.”
Ranma blinked. They were sending both him and John on a missions. “Well, I guess I should be trained by one of the best.”
John hid most of the smile from the praise. “Okay, what is it?”
“We wish you to track down and apprehend those responsible for the attack on the research center where the Black Lantern ring was being developed.”
With that, the Guardians held up a small box, which produced the images of the attackers.
Ranma sighed. “Somehow, I just knew he had to be involved.”
