The NERV security agents, the hidden cameras, the passerby civilians, all beheld as Shinji Ikari's wish was granted in a dazzling light show.

Elsewhere, Gendo reached into his pocket and pulled out a pack of Rolaids.

"I'm pleased to tell you that your wish has been granted," said Mihoshi happily. "Well, I've got to go. I've got another client lined up. One more wish and I can go home!" bamf!

Shinji stared at where he'd held a magic lamp a minute ago. "Hey, wait a minute. That was real?!"

Especially considering what he'd wished for, which was:

• Shinji wished he were stronger and not such a weenie.
• Shinji wished that Asuka and the other girls would be nicer to him.
• Shinji wished that (insert name of Eva girl(s)) here) was/were his girlfriend(s).
• Shinji wished he had a cute girlfriend like Mihoshi.
• Shinji wished for some other problem in his life to go bye bye.
• something else
