Akane was about to marry Kuno.
Soun was declaring that he would marry Ranma's female form. He stuck to this original plan even after discovering that Ranma turned into a boy with hot water. Having made his plan, he was loathe to change it even in the face of such evidence.
Genma was against the idea for various reasons.
The daughters were against the idea of calling a guy, even one who turned into a girl, Mother. That didn't mean either of them was interested in declaring their interest in a girl-sometimes-guy.
Ranma ignored the goings-on, frowning and concentrating. That made him LOOK absolutely furious.
He had to get this absolutely right or he'd just screw up further. He didn't want to see WHAT would be worse than this.
Finally he had a thought. A way to go. The problem was the curse. If he eliminated the curse so it never happened -
Pause. Rewind. Reset. Play.
