Lathander also had Monks. Not many, but they were there.
As soon as the Inner Fire was detected, that was where they'd bundled Ranma off to.
It was that Inner Fire that had him put into a hermitage on an island far from civilization. When he was eleven, Ranma learned to release small bits of that Inner Fire by surrounding his fists with it. The "Burn Knuckle" attack was followed the next year by the "Firebird Ascension."
As the Inner Fire was a bit of power from Lathander's environ, it was renewed at dawn and weakest in the hours just before. Ranma joined everyone else in becoming an early riser after he'd noticed that he recovered it better if he was bathed in the first light of dawn.
Power. A tiny, almost insignificant, bit of power. A mere spark. Yet in the right environment, could become much more.
