Chibiusa slowly tiptoed through the dark streets of the dark town which looks so similar to Tokyo, but at the same time, so different.
She met no one on the street, no busy adults, no playing children, not even a stray dog. She was all alone.
Although, every now and then, she heard a deep howl coming from somewhere, sounding like a wolf. Some other scary noises came to her ears as well, the hooting of an owl, the screeching of bats and the loud clatter of a shutter that was being shaken by the wind.
Chibiusa shuddered. If not for Luna-P, she would have freaked every time she heard such a sound. But as her trusty cat-head ball was able to turn into almost every item she could imagine (including a flashlight), she felt somewhat safe.
Which doesn't mean that she wasn't scared.
She considered knocking at one of the houses' doors (she didn't see any doorbells), but decided against it. Somehow, her instinct told her it would be a bad idea.
She sat down on the crude pavement and clutched Luna-P to her chest. "What am I gonna do?" she mumbled. "The time key doesn't work for some reason, I don't see any people around, and Diana has vanished as well..."
After several minutes of thinking, she decided to go to Auntie Ikuko's house. If Usagi was still there... maybe she could tell her what was going on.
IF she was there...
She was about to get up, when all of a sudden, someone snickered.
She turned around, but only saw the darkness inside a back alley. "Who's there?" she nervously asked. "Hello?"
"My, my, my..." a female voice said. "A lonely human girl... How very foolish of you to come here..."
Chibiusa took a closer look. She had the feeling she heard this voice before... "Where... where are you?"
And a female figure stepped out of the darkness. It was a raven-haired beauty wearing a dress as red as blood. Her skin was very, very pale and her bloodshot eyes gleamed in the darkness.
Chibiusa froze. That couldn't be... "R... Rei?"
"Oh, you heard of me? I'm flattered, really!" Rei grinned. "Are you lost, dear? Not many humans are brave enough to come here willingly... to Necro Tokyo, metropolis of demons and the undead..."
"Ne... Necro Tokyo?" Chibiusa muttered. Rei grinned widely, showing off her sharp canines.
Chibiusa gasped. "You... you're a vampire?"
"Well, aren't you the smart one. Indeed, I am... Rei the Bloodthirsty they call me, mistress of the Undead... and follower of our great demon queen!"
"But... it's afternoon! How can a vampire...?"
Rei took a quick look to the sky, which was still covered with dark clouds. "Ah, so you didn't hear? Thanks to our noble and beautiful queen, Necro Tokyo is always shrouded in darkness, allowing creatures of the night... as me... to roam freely! And let me tell you something..." The vampiress came a step closer. "We're usually veeeeery hungry..." She licked her lips.
Chibiusa backed off. This wasn't the Rei she knew... she had to get out of here!
"Luna-P!" she shouted. The cat ball floated closer, turning into a wooden stake. Chibiusa raised the stake threateningly. "Don't come any closer," she shouted. "I mean it!"
Rei simply giggled. "You are too cute," she simply said. "Thinking a little girl like you would be able to even touch me with that thing... Pity that I was ordered to bring every human that is roaming our streets before our queen... I have the feeling your blood would have tasted quite... exquisite."
She made a commanding gesture. "I summon you, fallen soldiers of the past... Skeleton Squad, attack!"
And right between the two girls, the ground cracked open and at least a dozen of dark shapes crawled out of the earth... Undead skeletons, wielding various weapons like axes, sickles and curved blades.
Chibiusa let out a scream, turned around and began running.
"Follow her!" the vampiress commanded. "Let no human escape from our queen's wrath!"
And while the helpless princess of Crystal Tokyo was being chased by a pack of grinning, rotten skeletons, Rei the Bloodthirsty laughed evilly.
