Ranma cracked his knuckles and smiled. This wasn't his first fight against an Overlord. Some of them were tough opponents and this one looked to be suitable. He didn't want this to be an EASY fight after all.
"So, whelp, it's just you and me. AND MY MINIONS! ATTACK HIM!"
Ranma looked around the chamber, then back to AZZ9. "Don't tell me those wimps at the door..."
"You defeated my private guard?" asked AZZ9. "Very well, I shall have to eviscerate you myself."
Ranma's troops moved in, exploiting the hole in the defenses their leader had made. Not all of them were like Alecto in that they were noncombat personnel. Most WERE quite capable of fighting and fighting well.
There were the usual demons, some fairly cutesy by human standards. Some were rarer. Some were considerably less cute.
Some though - some were nearly as formidable as Ranma himself.
That his previous Overlord was now free of these other potential challengers to her rule was merely a happy bonus.
AZZ9 scuttled forward, using the old one-two scissors attack and his speed to cut this opponent up.
Ranma dodged, grabbed one pincer-claw and brought his fist into it. There was a nearly deafening metallic crunch as the metal folded.
AZZ9 brought the crumpled pincer up to look at it. "That's the last time I use that company for repairs. What did they make this out of? Recycled car parts?"
"Ya just can't trust some demons," agreed Ranma.
"Trust THIS," said AZZ9, who felt that there was a time and place for cliched lines. He'd use all that he could. His lobster chest opened up to shoot a crystal spear.
"No thanks," said Ranma, blurring and sliding underneath the belly of the beast. "King Of Beasts!"
AZZ9 felt himself thrown upward then struck four times before being slammed into the ground.
Ranma lightly landed, went into a ready stance then blinked. "What? Already?!"
AZZ9 rose unsteadily. "You haven't won yet!"
"Uhm, your metal parts are kinda wobbly," pointed out Ranma helpfully, "and they're kinda sparkin' and stuff."
"No matter," growled AZZ9. "You shall rue the day you were whelped, child. Behold my TRUE POWER!"
Ranma tensed, waiting for the attack to launch so he could figure out what it was and how to counter or avoid it.
