The Tendos still found themselves stuck in the dream as Ukyou's dangerously fluctuating elven spirit shined like a beacon into the hospital.
"Ohh, someone turn Ukyou down," Nabiki said, shielding her eyes momentarily.
"Heaven forbid," Kasumi gasped sharply, levelling a serious gaze at her younger sisters. "That light is her life force."
"Look," Nabiki said. "Whatever started this dream, that's all it is, and I'm not going to be put out by my own mind's interpretation of Kasumi."
Akane bit her lip with a somewhat troubled expression as Nabiki and Kasumi argued. She wasn't sure what the truth was, whether this was a dream like Nabiki suggested or the astral plane like Kasumi suggested. It felt bizarrely like having a shoulder angel and a shoulder devil...or two shoulder devils, anyway. The bizarre thing was that neither seemed to be telling her what to do. They were simply arguing back and forth about how to behave.
It was just bizarre enough to be a dream....or truth considering her life.
What she was certain of, however, several black shadows, those things that Kasumi said wanted "all eleven of" them, seemed to be gathering around the hospital, drawn by Ukyou's bright spirit, perhaps.
"We need to go back inside," Akane said. It was better to be safe than sorry. Just in case it was Kasumi that was right.
"What is the big deal?" Nabiki asked, waving her arms sarcastically. "Oooo, the inky black ghosts are coming. Ooooo."
Kasumi's reaction as she noticed the movement was more energetic.
"Oh my. We need to wake up," Kasumi said. "Come on."
Kasumi grabbed Nabiki's arm and dragged her along as Akane hung back a moment, wondering whether or not to fight the growing numbers.
"Hey, let go," Nabiki snapped, though her resistance didn't seem to account for much against an uncharacteristic strength in Kasumi's arms.
"Akane, inside!" Kasumi insisted, galvinizing her youngest sister into motion.
The sisters moved into the hospital as the black tide started to creep onto the hospital grounds.
From there it was a dizzying run through elongated, twisting hallways and shadowy people, Nabiki grumbling all the way.
Finally, they found the room that held their sleeping bodies...

"Hey! Let go of...me?" Nabiki said, voice sounding much weaker than she remembered as she finally woke up.
"Oh, my daughter!" Soun declared loudly as he jumped up to approach his now devilish daughter. "You're alive."
"Nabiki?" Ranma's voice said in a tense of relieved surprise.
Whatever Ranma's reaction might have been was stopped as Kasumi woke up a moment later and fluttered her wings.
"They're coming," she gasped. "They're coming for us...you have to get us all out."
Then the first of the corrupted birds smashed into the windows of the room.
