"Hotaru, come on, we're leaving," Professor Tomoe shouted as his assistants were busy packing everything into the big boxes.
"Aw, already?" his daughter whined. "Oh, okay... just a minute!"
She walked back to the edge of the jungle, where Usagi came out of the thicket.
"Meeew!" 'You wanna play again?'
"I'm sorry, Usagi," Hotaru murmured. "But we're leaving now... I have to go home."
'Awwww... when are you coming back?'
"Um... I don't think I will come back here, Usagi... I'm sorry!"
'Ooooh, why not? That's not fair! But... hey, wait a minute! I can come with you!'
"But, what if Papa and the other scientists see you?"
'Doesn't matter! I can make myself invisible! See?'
And suddenly, Usagi seemed to vanish.
Hotaru looked around. "Usagi? Are you still there?"
'Of course I am,' Usagi's voice called into her mind. 'I just made sure your Papa and the others won't see me. So I can come with you, right?'
"Oh, that's great," Hotaru cheered. "And when we're back home, you can sleep in my room, and I'll share my food with you... It's going to be great, Usagi!"

"There it comes," one of Tomoe's colleagues shouted. "The helicopter!"
"Okay, once it has landed, put everything inside. We'll be back on the island by tomorrow if we hurry. The sooner we can start the actual project, the sooner we will have success."
Suddenly, his cell phone beeped. "Just a moment..." He answered. "Yes?"
"Aaaah, Professor! Good to hear you again."
Tomoe gulped. "M-Mr. Giovanni, sir... what a surprise! We were just going to go aboard the helicopter."
"So I assume you were successful, were you?" Giovanni asked.
"Oh, of course we were! There's no doubt about it: The fur we found just has to be a sample of the Legendary Pokémon, Mew! With it, we can continue the project!"
"Well done, Professor," Giovanni said. Tomoe could almost see the smirk on the face of Team Rocket's leader. "So my powerful Pokémon will be ready within a month?"
"A month? But sir, it will be difficult... we know next to nothing about Mew's DNA... we have to do some research first..."
"Please, Professor... You really shouldn't protest when I tell you when I want it to be ready... You wouldn't want that anything happens to your precious daughter, would you?"
Tomoe shivered. No, he could not let anything happen to Hotaru. "I... I understand, sir... Your Pokémon will be ready within a month."
"Good! It really would be a shame if I had to send a special troop of Rocket Grunts to take her away... Good luck with your project, Professor... I'd hate to see you fail..."
Giovanni had hung up. Professor Tomoe sobbed. He should have never agreed working for Giovanni... Who knows what he'll do with that powerful clone they were going to create?
But before Giovanni would hurt his little Hotaru, he was more than ready to make an entire army of super-clones for him.
