Slowly, Chibiusa opened her eyes. This room... it was gloomy. She could see the silhouettes of several machines and unknown people.
'Where... am I?'
"Welcome to the world, Mewtwo," a voice told her. She looked up.
Two men were standing in front of her. One of them was tall and wore an expensive, orange business suit. The other one was a white-haired man wearing glasses and a lab coat.
The man in the business suit stepped forward. His face turned into a sneer as he looked down at her. "You're in a research lab on New Island, where my scientists have created you from the DNA of the powerful Pokémon Mew."
'So... this is my birthplace,' the said telepathically. During her 'dream sequences' with Hotaru and Usagi, she already got used to the fact that she was merely a clone. 'And what... do you plan to do with me? Who are you anyway?'
"I am Giovanni! Head of Team Rocket, the most powerful organization in the world. We use Pokémon to our benefit... and you'll be the way to reach our goals. You're the most powerful being that ever walked on this earth... No one will be able to defeat you."
Chibiusa ignored the last part and looked at the scientist, who kinda looked uncomfortable with the situation. 'Who are you?'
"I am... Professor Tomoe! I am the head scientist of this cloning project."
'So, it was you who made me?'
"In a manner of speaking... yes!"
Chibiusa looked at him for a while. He grew uneasy under her stare. Then she smiled. 'How's Hotaru?'
Tomoe gasped. "How do you know about my daughter?"
'I got to know her... while I was sleeping.'
"Incredible," the scientist murmured. "She must've contacted her with her mind..."
'Well, well...' Giovanni thought. 'This is most interesting... Perhaps I can use the relationship between the girl and Mewtwo to my own purposes...'
"Enough of that," he snapped. "Mewtwo! You have been created by mankind to serve mankind! Your mental powers will be trained under my supervision, so you can serve Team Rocket sufficiently. With your help, we'll be able to subdue any kind of resistance that will stand in our way."
'Why should I help you?' the psychic Pokémon asked and turned around to look at him.
"Excuse me?"
'I may be a clone, but I have my own free will... And I think I don't like your ideas of world domination! They suck!'
"You WILL obey me, or else..." Giovanni snarled.
Chibiusa's eyes flashed with psychic energy. 'Oh, shut up already! You think I wanna serve an idiot like you?'
Giovanni made a commanding gesture, and most of the scientists left the room. Tomoe however, stayed behind.
"Sir, I beg you to reconsider... Is this really how you want it? Think about the fame this accomplishment alone will bring you... Isn't that enough? Do you really want to risk everything just by opposing her?"
"I did not ask for your advice!" He pulled out a small device and pressed a button. "All Rocket Units, attention! Come to lab 12, and bring your strongest Pokémon! Agent 009, execute order 47!"
Almost immediately, two of the black-dressed Rocket Grunts entered the door of the lab. Giovanni stepped back and pulled Tomoe with him.
The Grunts threw two Pokéballs. A Voltorb and a Rhydon appeared and looked at Chibiusa threateningly.
"I'll ask you for the last time..." Giovanni shouted. "Join with our forces or we'll subdue you by force!"
Chibiusa sneered. 'Bring it on!'
The Rhydon roared and stormed at the clone. Chibiusa easily hovered upwards, making her body float by using telekinesis. The Rhydon slammed into a console, shattering it into pieces.
"Stop this," Tomoe yelled.
"Don't worry," Giovanni sneered. "This laboratory can be easily rebuilt... I want that Pokémon under my control, at all costs!"
"Voltoooorb!" The round electrical Pokémon spun around and used its Sonicboom Attack. Sonic waves came out of its body and flew towards Chibiusa. But she surrounded herself with a shield that easily reflected the attack.
'Please, this is getting boring,' she almost yawned, picked the Rhydon up from the floor and telecinetically hurled it at the Voltorb. Both Pokémon crashed into the test tube from which she came out from and shattered it. They were unconscious.
But the two Rockets had already called out other Pokémon, a Kingler and a Hypno. And now, even more Grunts came into the room, releasing even more Pokémon.
Although Chibiusa could easily deal with all those enemies, she felt a little overwhelmed by their sheer mass. And in addition to that, she never used her psychic powers in battle before, so she still wasn't completely used to it.
While seeing the laboratory being destroyed by the Pokémon's attacks, Tomoe gripped Giovanni's suit hardly. "Stop this madness! Don't you see? You can't control it!"
"I will find a way," the criminal mastermind growled. "Now, don't bother me!" And he shoved Tomoe backwards.
Groaning, the Professor hit the wall and slid down. While he was a brilliant scientist, he was no strong man, and he had no chance against a powerful man like Giovanni.
"Charmeleon, use your Flamethrower!" one of the Grunts just yelled.
Chibiusa easily parted the flames with her mind. 'This is getting old,' she murmured. 'Will you stop it already?'
She hardly gestured towards the Grunts themselves. A wave of powerful energy rippled through the air and crashed into the floor, blowing the place where the Rockets were standing up and sending them flying. Most of them were being knocked out by the attack, their Pokémon confused about what they should do without the commands of their masters.
Suddenly, the already damaged door of the room slammed open and fell out of its hinges. A blonde girl wearing a Team Rocket uniform and a beret came in, holding another person hostage. Both the Professor and Chibiusa gasped: It was Hotaru!
"Hold it right there," the blonde girl shouted. "Stop this fighting at once, or the girl will get it!"
"Chibiusa..." Hotaru whimpered. "Help me..."
Giovanni smiled. "Excellent work, Agent 006! Professor Tomoe, may I introduce you to one of our most promising agents, Domino, or as she likes to call herself: The Black Tulip!"
"Hotaru!" Tomoe yelled. "Please, don't hurt her!"
"That depends on Mewtwo," Giovanni snickered. "Well, clone? Do you have some feelings for that girl? Do you want to continue to defy me? I'd suggest not to, because the results would be most unpleasant... for her!"
Chibiusa stared at Giovanni in rage. 'I could easily tear you apart with my mind, you big bully!'
"Perhaps... but not before Domino would harm the girl. Do you want to test it?"
Giovanni knew he was taking a big risk here, but to gain the powers of the strongest Pokémon alive, he would've set even more on the line than that.
Sighing in defeat, Chibiusa looked at the ground. 'You won... I'll work for you! Only promise not to harm Hotaru and her father anymore!'
"I won't... at least not as long as you cooperate!" He gestured to Domino. "Take them both to the cell block and lock them up! As long as we have them, Mewtwo won't dare to oppose me again!"
"Right away, sir!" The Black Tulip saluted. Two other Grunts pulled the Professor off the ground, and they led him and Hotaru away.
Chibiusa closed her eyes and concentrated. She mentally contacted Hotaru.
'Hotaru? Where's Usagi?'
'Don't worry,' Hotaru replied. 'I told her not to show herself... I didn't want her to be caught by Team Rocket.'
'Don't worry! I'll find a way to get you out of there! I promise!'

Looking out of the tree in which she was hiding, the little Mew looked at the research buildings and shivered.
"Meeeew..."
'Hotaru... Chibiusa... I'll come back to save you two! I promise!'
