What he didn't know right then was that he had gotten lucky, as he had found a control system processing unit, something that had access to the entire system that he was trying to deal with. He'd come across it by accident, but this machine was something that had been made to be able to do a lot of things that he'd been aiming to do. In fact, had he been able to operate it, it would have been a very useful tool in what he'd hoped to work on.
Unluckily, it was currently sparking up a storm, blinking lights in orders that didn't look right, and was making strange sounds. That made it clear that the thing wasn't working right, and likely wouldn't be doing so for a some time yet. Of course, that did presuppose that the machine would survive that long, which wasn't a certainty, as pieces were falling off, and the casing was showing more cracks than a melting piece of ice.
All in all, this was going to be a... problem, given that it was currently working on the latest batch of 'acquisitions'. Having been damaged in the middle of regulating the process, the machine was certainly not about to work as designed. The fact that it was still functioning enough to keep the processing of the prisoners going for as long as it had was an astonishing feat that was clear to even the pigtailed boy's uneducated senses.
However, the system could simply not go on without the malfunctions affecting its performance. After a few moments, it became clear that it was doing something out of whack, though what exactly that was he couldn't tell. All he knew was that the system was not working right, and that if the machine called up those mind controlled minions, he'd be in for some trouble.
The problem with that was that he didn't know that he'd currently screwed up the system involving the enslaved people on the ship. As it was going, it was supposed to be taking controlled organisms, bringing them onto the ship, and turning them into useful units to service whatever needs they'd be tasked to handle. But, the system was currently getting a mix of shorting circuits, and odd inputs from Ranma's hit, which was leading to a change in the expected adaption process.
And when Ranma would get a chance, he would see that his mistake had led to the enslaved minions:
