"What's so funny?" asked a flatchested succubus girl before she saw what was on the TV. "oh. Waitaminute!"
"Ooooh!" said another girl, this one wearing a t-shirt decorated with hearts. "Honey-san! We ought to go say hello!"
"Oh yeah, that fight-monster, he'll pay for what he did to my castle!" declared the boy.
"You fixed it already, or rather the Prinnies did," pointed out Etna. "You've done worse yourself, you know."
"How DARE a human like that try to outdo an Overlord in a damage contest!" further ranted Laharl.
"He did it too," said Etna. "Hey, how do you think 'battle monster' there will handle having a harem?"
"Well, I expect Honey will have her hands full trying to keep him from running away," said Flonne. "He's so silly like that."
"Better him than me," said Laharl. "I'm grateful the only girls I have to deal with are flatchested tomboys... oops"
He didn't have to look around to be able to tell that two shadow-faced red-glowing-eyed women were about to inflict harm upon him. Maybe he should start running?
He grunted as he sat back in the bubbling magma pool. Baal rubbed his chin as he considered. That upstart was an Overlord now? Maybe he ought to go check on that.
Pfeh. Maybe he ought to bring a housewarming gift. A rampaging monster of some kind would be appropriate.
What was it with all these pipsqueaks coming by at odd hours and challenging him anyway? He wasn't on some damn tour route now was he?
"Adell?"
"Yeah?"
"You remember that OTHER battle maniac..."
Adell nodded. "Yeah, Rozalin. Ran-something wasn't it?"
"You know as well as I that his name is Ranma," said Rozalin. "It isn't like you haven't been following his career."
"Yeah, well I heard he was retiring," admitted Adell. "Shame, but I can see his point."
"He's now an Overlord and I have the Gate address," said Rozalin, tucking a slip of paper in between her breasts.
"Ah hah," said Adell. "And the price would be?"
Rozalin closed the door quietly behind her. "Oh, I'm sure we can... come to terms."
"Menace to the world?" asked Ranma, feigning nonchalance.
"Oh yes," said Honey. "According to this note, he's enthralled some girl - possessing her with some kind of vampiric spirit."
"Destroying innocents?" asked Ranma, frowning. "Okay, that's suitably demonic but I ain't the kinda guy who can sit still for that."
"Of course not," said Honey, in complete agreement.
"What's his name?" asked Alecto. Had to order the grave marker ahead of time, after all.
Honey checked. "'Pharoah 90'"
Genma checked. Fire spells. Ice spells. Star spells. SP was full. Yup. More training.
