"Or that this is the Mark 90," guessed Ranma. "It might just be like 'Henry the Fifty Second' and just some succession thing."
"That's it," said Stetson in his deep grumble. "Dead ahead."
Genma knew that he had made a mistake or two in his life, it was admitting such that he was generally opposed to. Seeing what they were fighting, he was thinking that maybe following everyone into this fight had been a not terribly good idea.
Though he had to admit he had done quite well in another of his decisions. He had been right after all, and sending Ranma to Hell (or at least the Netherworld) had been one of his better ideas.
Ranma was a fairly accomplished martial artist, not bad at all. Clearly the old Saotome genes were proving out. Chip off the old block, and he might even reach the level of his father some day!
"An Overlord the size of a moon?" asked James.
"You know what this means?" asked Ranma, a glint in his eyes and smacking one gloved fist into the palm of the other hand.
Genma looked at his son. "Saotome Special Manuever?"
"It means," said Ranma, ignoring the noob, "we can all use our most powerful signature attacks. We can go all out!"
Genma saw all the grins as the moon sized/shaped thing began reaching towards them with tendrils. "What?"
Had this been an anime, what Genma was now looking at would have been a blatant use of stock animation trotted out to pad out an episode.
James, the Gunner, threw a handful of shiny silver dollars in the air. "Shooting Stars." Blasting in all directions, each shot hit one of the coins and was reflected towards his target.
Honey kissed her longsword, winked, then rose up on white-pinioned wings as the sword became a bow. "Ride Of The Valkyries!" Dozens of arrows of light shot away from her bow - shifting on the way to become winged girls made of light swinging swords as they homed in on the target.
"Tera Fire!" incanted a girl with her red hair braided behind her, her hands making passes in the air with flames marking their passage.
"Tera Wind!" incanted a girl with green hair braided behind her, holding her hands overhead and forming a ball of green energy.
"Tera Ice!" called out a girl with blue hair hanging down to mid-back. She formed a bluish sphere of mist.
"Colossal Fissure!" declared some thickly built guy with an axe as he leapt up and began spinning.
"Calamity Drive!" declared the axeman's twin as he began whipping his own axe into a silvery blur.
"HELL BLAST!" incanted Naga.
"Illusion," whispered a puppet-looking creature.
"X-Buster!" said KOS-MOS, extending blue-fire wings of light behind her.
"Nirvana," called out Angelion.
"Wind Dice," barked Stetson.
"Tera Star!" tried Genma, at least making a contribution.
MOMO held her own bow out. "Open Ether Circuits. Fire Bolt III!"
Alecto signalled he had the pirate ship/Netherworld at a ninety degree angle from the assault force, and a clear field of fire. "Fire a broadside!"
"Purity Storm," said Serenity, vowing not to be outdone.
"Soul Fist Enhanced," declared Morrigan, determined to show them that she WAS the Queen of Succubi.
"Kitty Blast," declared Felicia, forming a huge ball of chi.
"GRARRR," yelled Viktor, throwing a rock up and then punching it towards the target.
"GRRRRRRRRR," growled Jon in werewolf form, throwing a chi-blast of his own.
Ranma waited until the attacks had passed him, using the time to switch gloves, then streaked down in their wake fist-first. It had been entirely too long since he'd been able to use this attack. "Galactic Crunch!"
Pharoah 90 brought the tendrils that HAD been going for an attack into a more blocking position. As blasts shredded those tendrils and more of the massed fire continued on, there came a reaction to these events.
"That's funny," said Alecto, watching from the pirate ship/Netherworld. "That almost looks like a huge sweatdrop forming on the side of that moon."
