Gate of Light - Lightwings!: Typhoon - Sunset - [Episode 175542]

by Linnara

Sailor Saturn jammed her hands to her mouth, trying to think.

Whatever that was left of the glory of the Gate of Light was fading even as she watched, boy lying in front of her was looking more and more disgustingly ordinary-looking by the second, and -

No no no no, this couldn't be her glorious Ranma-sempai/Lightwings-sama, he just couldn't

But - now that she really was looking at him, that ridiculously, disgustlingly ordinary-looking face did look a little bit familiar, and -

Saturn recognized with a jolt that she'd seen that face before. But where?

And then it hit her. Photographs.

It was a well-known fact in the 'Lightwings-sama fanclub' that trying to take photos (or video, or any other type of recordings for that matter) of Lightwings-sama never really worked out, as the photos/videos/tapes almost always turned out 'fogged out' beyond all hope of use. What was somewhat lesser widely known was that 'Saotome Ranma' had almost exactly the same problem - Even the photos used in his AEGIS ID and his school card were actually computer-made, as trying to take any real photos of him were quite literally a waste of time.

However...

Saturn remembered a photo one of the other girls had shown her once. She was one of the few - well, not as few as Ranma-senpai himself would have liked, probably, but there still weren't many of them - people who knew that Ranma-senpai was actually Lightwings-sama as well, and was one of the people Hotaru talked to often. Well, more often then other people, anyhow...

"Say, Hotaru-chan, can you figure out who this is?" The girl had said, showing her the photo. "Oh, here's another one. It's from our school trip to Hakone, the one that was busted by no less the 5 Enemy robots, like I told you about, but... funny. I don't remember seeing somebody like this at all. Maybe he was from another school?"

Hotaru had looked at the photo of a brash-looking and so-so handsome boy in a yukata, and shrugged. " - I don't think I've ever seen him here..."

And the girl had shrugged, too, and put the photos away, and they had spent the rest of the break talking about (who else) Ranma-senpai/Lightwings-sama, and that had been that, but...

But now, Ranma-senpai (but was he really Ranma-senpai? Really? Truly?) was looking more and more like the boy in those photos, and -

She gulped, then. She'd - she'd try a healing. At least, she'd try.

**********************************************

Sailor Pluto watched with interest. What Saturn would do now would have some kind of impact on her plans, either major or minor, and she interested in which path she'd choose, to say the least.

Sailor Pluto sighed, then. She knew a lot more then any one of her 'former selves' did, and she'd checked out a great deal more after the 'merging', but it wasn't like she knew everything, she did know that much.

However, she did know a good deal more about this Timeline's version of Saotome Ranma then most of the people around him, and indeed, more then Ranma himself, about certain things, anyway.

**********************************************

Saotome Nodoka curled up into a ball on her futon. There had been a cutting off, and then a 'bump', and -

And then, nothing. A great dark piece of screaming nothing was were the great warmth had been always with her, ever since that night when she had been 3 months pregnant with the child who was to be her glorious son, and the glorious Light had entered her life -

Nodoka curled up, and wept, empty-eyed.

**********************************************

Sailor Pluto sighed, then.

The crux of the matter, now, was that this Timeline's Saotome Ranma had never, ever been not Linked to the Gate of Light, even before he was born.

The connection had always been there, all during his life, even before Circustances had forced the Gate wide open and enough energies had started to 'leak' on a daily basis at a totally un-ignorable rate even by the most not-sensitive-as-a-brick people -

And now, suddenly, that Link was way, way, way 'down', the 'flow' even lower then when he had been a mere baby.

And what Saturn was doing now about the entire situation -

**********************************************

The more she tried to healed him, the faster the last glimmers of the glory seemed to disappear -

Sailor Saturn took her hands away, and wept.

**********************************************

Pluto sighed, then, feeling an odd urge to go tell Saturn that her healing powers were working just fine. Because they were.

Really.

She rechecked her readings on Ranma, then. She couldn't get a clear reading of them as she'd like, not from here, but most of his ki channels that were connected to his own 'life energy banks' were - well, less atrophied then they had been, at least.

Which was good for one Saotome Ranma, she supposed... In the long run, at least.

OK, OK, time to readjust some of her plans again, she supposed...
