Thunder Ken: Mirrored Attack [Episode 175672]

by Kender

The five figures did not so much move as blurred, as one could not see them actually make movements with their limbs. They'd start with looking like they were about to leap, but then they'd seem to turn into a streak of color as they bounded all through the forest. From tree branch to tree branch they bounced, never even looking like they'd ever hesitated about which one they'd land upon. It was just apparently that a choice was made, and they simply went for it.

Only the sound of rushing wind was made, and their coordination as they moved was silent, but total.

However, their joint running was only temporary, and as the one in red stopped long enough to raise one hand with her fingers spread, the colors of their 'rainbow' started heading off in different directions.

There were still opponents to defeat out there after all.

Niiko leapt up to the last branch, and saw her foe for the day walking around as if she wasn't too sure about which way she should go. By all appearances, the blonde girl with the strange hairstyle wasn't lost, so much as merely uncertain about her path, and taking it slowly. The ninja girl could understand that sort of thought, though she didn't think that hesitation like that would be all that helpful in a fight. Of course, it gave her a chance to go after the girl, and that meant that she was going to be able to do a sneak attack.

Or she would have, if she hadn't felt something coming at her, and leapt to another tree branch before she could get hit.

Turning to face where she'd been, Niiko immediately began to wonder about what was going on. As far as she knew, there were no other combatants in her area, and that meant that there should have been no interruptions of her attack. However, it turned out that something was there and was waiting to strike at her, and she wanted to know what it was.

What she saw was a really familiar figure dressed in a body hugging blue outfit.

'That's me,' she thought to herself in a moment of utter confusion.

Only the need to fight was on the mind of the 'Red Kunoichi', as she was not about to let such a slight be left not dealt with. In a battle, a ninja had to be able to complete her mission, and at this point, part of that was to defeat the girl who had just gotten the best of her. She'd been trailing after her opponent for a while now, and was certain that she could blitz the blonde girl without too much of a problem.

Of course, that didn't include the fact that she had to bounce out of the way as several thrown daggers impacted the spot where she had been. And given the fact that she had seen the person who had thrown them, she had not been caught off guard by the sudden strike. Only the fact that she had been apparently just attacked by herself threw her a little off as she went to counterattack.

This was the sort of situation that Goko really enjoyed. She could let Ichiko take the whole 'ninja code' thing and go to town with it. Her main desire was to get into some good fights, and even if she and Shiiko were having to fight side by side, she was aiming to focus on her own target to almost total exclusivity. That girl had proven to be a worthy fighter, and as the two kunoichi ran along the forest floor, dodging various obstacles with skill and grace, she was certain that she had finally found someone to have a good fight with.

And as she saw the blue haired girl just standing there with the tall brunette, she couldn't help smirking just a bit. A glance over towards her sister allowed them to share a nod, and they put on a little more speed as they went to send their first blows at their targets.

Someone apparently thought differently though, and bounced straight into their paths, as the two young ninja girls came up to a quick stop. Coming to a standing position, they looked at the figures that did not hide who they were, and were surprised for a moment. But then the shock passed, and it was clear that this wasn't going to be a simple greeting.

Not that Goko minded all that much, as the frustration of a delay in facing her opponent mixed with the joy of the possibility of seeing just how well she could do against herself as she and Shiiko pulled out their kunais and got into ready positions that were mirrored by their opponents.

"I know that you are out there," Sanko murmured as she stepped lightly on to the large rock. Coming slowly and gracefully to a standing position, she turned, and smiled not only at the light flower petals dancing on the breeze that stirred her hair and clothing, but in greeting at the one that had been following her.

The other 'Pink Kunoichi' stood on another rock and smiled back, while:
