"Futana, I think we should go," Dr. Tofu said from the porch.
"Futana, huh?" Ranma said, alighting from the roof on one hand. He tossed Akane a little, black thing by its bandana. "Here! ' Don't know why I went and found him for you. ' Don't thank me, or nothin'."
"P-chan!" Akane grinned, welcoming it to her bosom.
"So, Futana, you know any more techniques?" The pigtailed boy was showing off by staying on his hands, too; but he didn't dance.
"Ranma Saotome?" The woman pirouetted around on one finger.
"Uh-oh." Ranma had learned to not like conversations that started that way. "So what do you want from me?"
"You are the reason for my existence."
"Is that a good or bad thing?" The woman had a crazy look about her.
"You were fighting Pantyhose Taro in his Yeti-Bull-Crane-Eel-Octopus form. As I heard the story later, you flashed Happosai your chest. When he awoke and moved for it, the Water of Drowned Twins fell between Taro’s tentacles.”
"It wasn't my fault!! What, I was supposed to let the Laughing-stock Monster turn the Freak into two? ...Wait, are you sayin' you're a twin?" Ranma walked over on his hands for a better look. "You do look sorta familiar. Did your sister want to kill me or marry me?”
“Neither. And my older brother and I are not vengeful sorts.” The pony-tailed woman did a one-handed flip and went from the lotus position to standing.
“Really? Well, that’s a change a pace. So, why are you here?” Ranma proved he could do the same stunt, too. He didn’t follow her lead and faint at the feet of Akane.
“Ranma, Futana is Dr. Tofu’s twin,” an annoyed Akane told the imbecile as she stopped petting P-chan, tempted to reach down for the fallen woman.
“Really? Say, how can a guy have a girl twin? Okay, I know that can happen, but naturally, not by cloning water. Right?”
“The Drowned Twins were not identical, but fraternal, of both genders,” Dr. Tofu explained, kneeling down beside his female twin. “Quiet, now, please; this is a very delicate procedure.” He stuck an acupuncture needle very close to Futana’s eye. Her eyes immediately fluttered and then opened.
“...Tofu?...”
“Yes, I treated you, again. Now you do the same for me, please,” he said, presenting her with the needle. As she arose and prepared to do as he asked, Tofu explained. “You may have noticed we have recovered our facilities more quickly than we normally do. This treatment is the reason. As you can also see...” even as he spoke, she was inserting the needle, “...it is not something not recommended to be self-administered.”
“That’s creepy even to me,” Ranma said. The pig agreed.
“Yes. It’s called the Eye-of-the-Beholder Point. Luckily, the name is not literal,” Futana said, able to relax now that the needle was back out.
“One wrong move on the acupuncturist’s part, and the client could behold something he would rather not.”
