"It's not like that...." Keiichi responded, groaning weakly.
"Then what is it? I mean, if you knew that he was coming, then why didn't you give me a call? You know that I would have come right over!"
"And yet here you are...."
She gave him a sour look and sniffed. "I didn't know that Ranma was coming. All I came here for was to see if a dear big brother would help out his little sister...."
"How much do you need now?"
"Eh?"
"I thought that you might have run out of the money that we were sent...."
"Oh, that. Of course it isn't that. I needed to get a copy of a study guide, and I remembered that you said that you had a copy of it that you used when you had the class. And since you did tell me that I could borrow it, I figured that it would be better to do that instead of going to waste my money on a new one. A simple and innocent reason, see?"
"Sorry about that," he murmured, rubbing the back of his head with one hand. "I didn't mean to sound.... so bad. I was just worrying...."
"Well, worry no more. It wasn't anything major, and now I get to be here when Ranma comes back!"
"But didn't you say that you were looking to study?"
"Oh, that can wait. The studying that I was doing was just on some stuff that I can handle. What's important is that we can have fun with him again."
"You really do like him that much, don't you?"
Megumi's face brightened with the addition of a wide smile. "Absolutely. After all, he's so much fun. I've never seen someone so into athletics before, and he's not as stuffy or as arrogant as some of the guys that I know. And it's almost like he's a younger brother to me. For once I get to play the 'elder sibling' role, and it's always something to enjoy."
"Not always for him...."
"I never do anything to hurt him. You know that."
"That, I know. It's just that he's not exactly been liking it all," Keiichi softly drawled.
"It'll be fine. Besides, what could happen?"
"I've learned to not say things like that."
"That's no fun.... But, do you know what is? Having Skuld and him together again. They're so cute together!"
"You're not going to tease them again, are you?"
"Don't worry so much," his sister said dismissively, and turned away from him as she waved one hand in the air. "Hey, Belldandy! Urd! I'm here! Let me help out too!"
"Why do I have this feeling that this is a sign of future problems?" Keiichi thought to himself, while:
