Torajin: Power and Prices [Episode 178091]

by Kestral

"So what is it you desire, Tatewaki Kuno?" asked the magician.

"That foul foreigner had tricks he could manage," said Kuno.

"He has the powers of one of the Revenants," said the magician, looking into the glowing green interior of a cauldron. "He can alter his shape to some extent, stretch and deform his limbs, and alter his density nearly to that of iron."

"My best techniques were as naught before such power," said Kuno grudgingly. "I struck him in full, a perfect blow, and it didst nothing."

"So you desire the means to gain such powers yourself to defeat Lord McCoy?" asked the magician.

"A true samurai can defeat any obstacle," said Tatewaki. "Though sometimes he must seek different tools."

"Okay, that brings about the matter of payment," said the magician.

"The Kuno family has access to sufficient funds," said Tatewaki.

"Oh, I'm sure you have monetary supplies," said the magician. "Yet in transactions of this nature, it is traditional to seek something other than an exchange of cash."

"What matter do you speak of?" asked Kuno.

"There is always a cost for power," said the magician, looking up from his cauldron now. "One always sacrifices something in order to gain something else. For the power to stand against Lord McCoy and to make that girl yours, a further payment is required."

"Whatever is required, I shall pay," said Kuno, making a dismissive gesture.

"So be it," said the magician, a cruel smile forming on his face.
