Several streets farther, a white-furred cat was trotting along the sidewalk and muttered to himself:
"Let's see, how do I say this... 'Dear Luna, I'm terribly sorry for comparing your tail with a duster, but at that time, the analogy seemed pretty fitting...' Oh, no no, I can't say that... Let's try again, ummm... 'Luna, I would never say that your tail looks like a feather duster, but... you have to admit, sometimes you manage to raise some dust...' Dang, that's not better..."
"There's one!" a loud female voice suddenly shouted.
"Huh?" Artemis turned around his head... and saw three people standing on the other side of the street. A red-headed girl, a young woman and a boy.
The violet-haired woman grinned. "I can't believe our luck... The chances we'd run into them right after our arrival were pretty low..."
Artemis gulped. Did they hear him talk?
"Hey you," the boy shouted. "Come here!"
"Um... meow?"
The redhead stepped forward. "You can't fool us... We know you're a Mau!"
Now the white-furred advisor of Venus was sweating. How did they know about his race? Were those allies of the Dead Moon Circus?
He chose to play dumb for a while and just continued walking.
"Hey, come back here!" the younger girl shouted.
"We only wanna talk to you!" the boy added.
'Yeah, right...' Artemis thought. 'As if I would risk getting caught by our enemies when no one of the Senshi is nearby...'
"Dammit, he's getting away!"
"So run after him!"
"But Asuka, we still have to find Rei."
"Wondercat can take care of herself. If we lose him now, we might not find him again."
He then heard their footsteps. When he risked a look over his shoulder, he saw how those three people came running after him. The redhead was in lead, and it looked like she was coming closer.
"Oh dang," he cursed as he saw how she prepared for a lunge.
"Now I got you! Haaaaaa... URK!"
Milliseconds before the girl managed to grab him, someone zipped past him, picked him up and jumped away, so that the redhead stumbled to the ground.
"Ouch..."
Artemis looked up and saw the grinning face of his partner, Sailor Venus. "You're lucky I was just patrolling the area."
Artemis looked like he was ready to kiss her. "Minako, I never say anything about your bad timing again..."
Asuka rubbed her chin. That hurt... Dang, and she had been so close...
The blonde, fuku-clad girl frowned at her. "Hey, who are you... and what do you want with my cat?"
"Hey, we just want to borrow him for a while," Asuka replied.
"Be careful, Venus..." Artemis whispered. "She might be an ally of our enemies... she knows I'm a Mau."
Just then, Misato and Shinji managed to catch up with Asuka. "Hey, that's one of the Senshi," Misato realized.
"Correct," Minako said proudly. "You are in the presence of Sailor Venus... and I can tell you, I'm in a bad mood. Leave my cat alone, you hear me?"
"Come on, we just need some of his fur..." Shinji pleaded.
Artemis gasped. "HELP! THEY WANT MY SCALP!"
"Forget it," Venus snapped. "This cat belongs to me, and to no one else."
"Hey, I'm no one's property," Artemis protested.
"You don't understand," Misato intervened. "It's just that we..."
"Hey, what's going on here?" another voice shouted. And then, Sailors Mars and Jupiter appeared alongside their comrade.
Venus pointed at the three time-travelers. "Those goons are after my Artemis!" she yelled.
"I just told you, we only need his fur!" Asuka shouted in frustration.
Rei frowned. "Who are you? Some kind of voodoo cult that needs cat hair for their rituals?"
Artemis struggled within Venus' grasp. "They're gonna turn me into a zombie! WHAAAAAH!"
"Quiet!" Venus commanded.
Makoto sweat-dropped. "Rei... where did you get that idea?"
"Rei? Where is she?" Shinji asked. "You better not have done anything to our friend?"
"Your friend?" Jupiter asked in confusion. "Who's your friend?"
"You know, the cat!" Asuka snapped.
The Senshi all looked at Artemis. "Do you know them?"
"I've never seen them before," the white-furred Mau yelled. "Now can we get out of here?"
"Not so fast," Asuka said. "We still need some of his fur."
"Again with the fur..." Minako groaned. "What IS it with you guys?"
"Listen, we're taking our cat with us and you better stop going after his fur, or you'll end up burnt!" Mars snarled angrily.
Asuka snarled back. "You wanna piece of me?"
"Anytime, you jerk! I could beat you in my sleep!"
Shinji noticed how this conversation wasn't quite going as he had planned. "Um, Asuka!"
"Stay out of this, baka-Shinji! And you, Sailor Whatsoever... I wouldn't quite call someone who's running around in cheerleading garments a fighter! Your fukus look pretty silly, you know that?"
Rei growled. No one insulted the fukus of the Sailor Senshi. "All right, you got it! Now you've made me MAD!"
She jumped over the street and aimed for Asuka's face with a punch.
But the half-german redhead wasn't for nothing the pilot of Evangelion Unit 02... she easily blocked Mars' punch and threw her backwards with a kick.
Rei groaned as she stumbled backwards.
That attack made it obvious for her two fellow Senshi: Those guys meant trouble. Minako put down Artemis, and together with Jupiter, she joined Mars on the other side of the street.
"No one attacks one of our team without having to worry about her teammates," Jupiter said.
"Be careful, Asuka," Misato said. "Remember, they have magical powers..."
Asuka grinned. "So do I!" She grabbed the bracelet that was around her right wrist. "Fire Power activate!"
In a bright flash, a trail of burning flames swept over Asuka's clothes, morphing them into a red battle armor, which showed off her legs nicely. In her right hand, a curved saber with a flaming blade appeared.
"You wanna try out your super powers now?" Asuka grinned.
Shinji sweatdropped. "Fire Power activate?"
"Hey, those silly lines work in the comics, right?"
The Senshi were stunned upon realizing the magical abilities of their opponent. But then, the three of them were even more ready to fight.
"I knew it: You're in league with those Dead Moon freaks," Mars snarled. "You better give up, or else..."
"Hey, can't we settle this normally..." Misato started.
But both Mars and Asuka looked ready to go at each other's throats.
"What's the matter?" Asuka growled. "Afraid you would lose?"
"That's IT!" Mars shouted. "MARS FLAME SNIPER!"
Shinji and Misato yelped as Mars shot her burning arrow towards Asuka. The redhead was surprised as well, but her red-glowing armor quickly absorbed the heat of the attack.
"Okay, now we HAVE to fight..." Shinji said through gritted teeth. "Okay... Plant Power activate!"
Making a fist with his glove, he summoned vines from the ground that wrapped themselves around his torso, transforming into a wooden armor, complete with helmet and a thorny whip.
He cracked the whip in Jupiter's direction, who was going to attack Asuka directly. "Leave my friend alone!"
"You want me to take you on instead?" The tall girl cracked her knuckles. "Gladly!"
Shinji thought for a while, what could be a cool name for his attack?
"Leaf Tornado!" he yelled, attacking Jupiter with a flurry of sharp leaves that came towards her like a flying spiral.
"Jupiter Oak Evolution!" The Senshi of Lightning and Plants countered the attack with her own leaves.
Venus was standing in front of Misato, who raised her hands. "Please, I don't want to fight you."
"Then why are you after my Artemis?" Minako yelled. "Venus Love and Beauty Shock!"
Misato yelped and grabbed her necklace. "W-w-wind Power activate!" She stuttered.
A miniature cyclone appeared around her, shielding her from Venus' attack. When the twisting air currents died down, Misato's clothes had turned into an elegant robe, colored in light grey.
She stared down at her cleavage. "I still think this costume is too revealing..." she muttered.
"Stop looking at your tiny boobs and fight!" Venus yelled. She hated to be ignored.
Misato fumed. Tiny boobs? TINY BOOBS?
"I'll show you..." she grumbled and grabbed her metal fan. "Gale Blast!"
And a sudden gust of wind pressed Minako backwards. "Venus Love-Me-Chain!" she shouted, and wrapped her chain around a lamppost to avoid being blasted away.
So the battle started.

From a nearby rooftop, the red-haired member of the Amazon Quartet peered down at the fight.
"Looks like those Senshi stumbled over some unknown opponents," she said to herself. "Wow, those other guys are pretty strong." She grinned. "Although this guy is pretty cute... Maybe I should have a look at his Dream Mirror..."
She then sighed. "Hmmm, perhaps I should wait until they're done and take care of the winner... or I could call the others and we attack them together... Decisions, decisions..."
