Setsuna's Fault: Trekking [Episode 178864]

"Well," said Minako as she stood at the window. "Normally I don't see planets whizzing by at high speed. So I'm guessing we're not on Earth."

Abruptly Minako found herself being shouldered to the side as all the maids ended up crowding for viewing space.

Frowning at being crowded out, Minako decided to have the last word. "Well, I guess we're not in Kansai anymore."

He paused slightly, noticing the area around his chair had gotten crowded. "I was just getting ready to make a log entry."

"Indeed," said Mister Spock, arching an eyebrow.

"It should be an interesting one," said Doctor McCoy.

"Aye," said Scotty.

"Captain's Log, Supplemental," said James T. Kirk, pushing the appropriate button and glancing wryly at his subordinates. "While on a mission to the Guardian Of Forever, we encountered..."

"A 'temporal fusion maelstrom event, level IV', I believe was the phrase the Guardian used," supplied Spock.

"...we encountered a temporal disturbance," said Captain Kirk.

"Canna blame him for shortenin' such a mouthful," mumbled Scotty.

Captain Kirk clicked the off button in order to look around at the rest of the boarding party.

"I want a copy of this to append to my own report," said Doctor McCoy dryly.

Captain Kirk acknowledged this with a nod and switched the log back on. "When we returned, it was to find that history had gotten a little bit rearranged."

"Mucked up," said Scotty.

"Amen," said Doctor McCoy.

"Indeed," agreed Spock.

"I don't see anything different, do you?" asked Ensign Hibiki at the helm.

"No," agreed Lieutenant Sulu.

"Ahem," said Captain Kirk, raising his voice ever so slightly.

"Sorry, Captain," said Ensign Hibiki, turning back to his board.

"At any rate, several things have become mangled beyond all recognition," said Captain Kirk. "Our mission is now not to discover what the odd temporal manifestations in nearby star systems were - as it is now apparent that it was precursor effects to this..."

"Temporal fusion maelstrom event," supplied Spock. "Level IV."

"That," said Captain Kirk. "If things got this messed up, I don't want to see what a 'level V' would entail. Computer, strike that last comment. Okay. Prior to the event, we were bordered on two sides by hostiles - the Klingon Empire and the Romulans, and were sitting in a sort of cold-war setting with a balance of power. There were a number of other empires and kingdoms and non-allied worlds, but nothing major."

"Now it's a little different," said Doctor McCoy.

"Why, Doctor, you are developing a gift for understatement," said Spock.

"Our mission now includes waiting for a rendevous with a sort of star-yacht owned by one of these new players in the galaxy, except that all our records and history show them to have been around for centuries now," said Captain Kirk. "Only those of us from the boarding party have had to go over those records because we hadn't heard a thing about them until history got rewritten." A finger turned the log entry off again. "Am I the only one around here who gets a headache with these time paradoxes?"

"I believe everyone who has ever encountered such, has had a similar reaction," said Spock.

Captain Kirk let out a long deep breath before clicking the log back on. "The yacht is carrying an ambassador named Ranma, who is -"
