“Ah, Keeper, I see your awake.” the Adviser greeted as his shapeless form glided across the Inner Sanctum to Ranma’s bed. “Come now we have much to do.”
“What’s the rush anyway?” Ranma asked tiredly as he slowly swung his legs over the large bed. Overall, it was the best night of sleep he had in a long time without worrying about his father throwing him out the window or Akane coming in shouting and throwing a bucket of water.
“We must act swiftly, should a rival Keeper discover us then no doubt that he or she would try to destroy us. Or worst force us under servitude and be that Keeper‘s human shield.” The Adviser answered. “It would be prudent that we quickly get what we need and start building yourself a sizable fighting force.”
“Yeah sure.” Ranma muttered before reaching for his clothes.
“Keeper you should not wear your regular clothes.” The Adviser said quickly before pointing another set of clothes on a nearby table with his ethereal hand. “You would attract too much attention in Skid Row should you wear your own garments. I’ve taken the liberty to prepare a set of clothes that will let you fit in quite nicely.”
“It looks kinda…” Ranma looked down at the dirty looking brown shirt and dusty grey pants in distaste.
“Indeed. But for good reason.” The Adviser explained. “The garments would not attract the more… unsavory characters hoping to gain a profit by taking your riches right out of your own pocket. Remember, the city is full of thieves and your regular attire would no doubt bring their attention to you.”
“Dammit these pants are tight” Ranma sighed in defeat as he struggled to pull up the pants. “That means we’re not bringin’ Horny too, right?”
“Good, you’re actually smart enough to realized that.” The Adviser chuckled as Ranma gave him a death glare. “Horny is a Horned Reaper. Only a Keeper would have the resources to have one or to keep one loyal enough to even stay for that matter. Think of it as a symbol of status. And as for the pants, their the best we can do for now.”
The Mentor looked at Ranma for a couple seconds. "Your pants are definitely too tight.”
Ranma shifted uncomfortably, not used to wearing anything other than his regular clothes.
“Should we get goin’ then?”
“Yes. However, since there is only so much we can take with you from Skid Row. It would be best for you to get yourself personal servants first.” The Adviser paused as if he was in deep thought. ”From there, you can then gain schematics for other rooms, doors and traps.”
“Alright.” Ranma nodded. “Anythin’ else?”
“It would also be the best time to hire some warriors as well.” The Adviser added. “It would also be wise to hire a warlock or two to add some magic to your arsenal.”
“Damn, that’s a lot to do.” Ranma sighed, realizing how much he would need to do.
“Of course, all the more reason to finish as soon as possible.” The Adviser replied. “Staying too long in Skid Row would be most unpleasant.”
