Rei #24, 25, 26 all sat on the monitoring bay on Level 5. "We are being invaded."
"Huh?" asked Asuka, looking up from where she was targetting these winged beings. It seemed a little odd to be turning them into winged catgirls, but whatever worked she supposed.
Rei #25 switched the main monitor to show a stream of odd penguin-like creatures coming up the main ramp to the front door.
"Okay, that's weird. Pen-Pen has relatives?" guessed Asuka.
"Unknown," said Rei #26, clicking on her headset. "Rei #34, please investigate potential invaders entering through front door."
"How many Rei ARE there?" asked Asuka.
"In the building? Or total?" asked Rei #24.
"Both," said Asuka, a little weirded out. Okay, a LOT weirded out.
"There are currently fifty Rei in the building, with an additional twenty four sold until E-Bay stopped sales on their website," said Rei #25.
"verfluchte massenproduzierte puppe," muttered Asuka, unnerved by the numbers.
"The Shrink Ray has taken a direct hit, self-repair systems estimate sixteen hours before operational again," said Rei #26.
Ranma focussed on the task at hand, knowing time was running out.
He went down the list of things Rei had given him, not knowing that these were items pulled from dozens of RPGs and various other games, novels, videos, and series.
Of course, none of it was labeled and all of it was being sent to elsewhere in the tower - most of the stuff that would fit was heading towards the Vaults.
He only kept a few items for himself for right now. Nothing really powerful, it wasn't as if NEEDED any of it.
"I don't think he's got enough problems," complained Laharl.
"Other than running around in a panic trying to use that magic doohickey before he runs out?" asked Etna.
"Right," said Laharl. "What he needs is..."
"LOVE," said Flonne, enthusiastically.
"Right, NO!" said Laharl with a scowl. "What he needs is a major problem or..."
Etna and Flonne both watched as Laharl went to a startled look (complete with large lightbulb appearing overhead) then into an evil crafty expression that Etna recognized as belonging on her OWN face.
"Next episode, on Disgaea-ed," said Laharl who figured he was the Overlord and he might as well have HIS turn.
"Hey, that's my schtick," complained Etna.
Laharl didn't stop, adding gleeful anticipation to his expression. "We'll see how this imitation handles -"
