The more Sailor Pluto checked, the weirder things were getting.
A lot of China looked fairly new, which is to say that many buildings were fifty years old at most.
When she got to the nearest major city and saw an Imperial Japanese flag, well, that indicated that the little 'thump' she'd felt earlier manipulating things had done something. Exactly what it had been was still unclear.
With a sinking feeling, she turned her view back to Azabu Juuban. A lot of new buildings, but a lot of old style architecture. Western influences were there, just not as prominent or as many.
All schools were military academies. Juuban had barbed wire on the fence.
Usagi...
Sailor Pluto shuddered at what had become of Usagi. Beryl and her Generals were working unopposed in the Japanese Empire, and it had not significantly changed in philosophy or their application since the Sino-Russian War from what she could see. "Whether it is a capricious kami, or some natural phenomena we do not yet understand, the fact remains that we have lost access to a sizable amount of our force."
Yamamoto nodded. "Postpone the other attacks. Determine if this is some secret weapon system we do not know of."
Sailor Pluto winced. The 'thump' had been a timeslip. Now the Empire of Japan had reformulated an attack and had ended up going after Russia. The United States had never entered World War II, despite whatever machinations were going on behind the scene, and had become increasingly isolationist over the intervening decades.
Imperial Japan had never faded and had eventually taken China, but only after decades of waiting for opportunities and taking "small bites". Russia proved to be tenacious against both German and Japanese forces, even after an area was pacified it was prone to suddenly flaring up with resistance fighters for many years thereafter.
Still, she had trouble believing what she was seeing in that:
