Male sexdrive and responsiveness had been reduced to 1/16. Instead their intellectual development and creativity had received that thrust, resulting in a burst of technology from 1915 onwards.
In order to not have the species dwindle off to nothing. Female sexdrive and responsiveness was 8x what it had been. There was a sort of cultural inertia that kept things from changing too fast, but once the Sexual Revolution began in 1939 - things sort of avalanched.
Ranma, on the other hand, fast-forwarding through things and remembering his LAST life - didn't know a whole lot of this.
Genma, on the other other hand, knew the retcon. He remembered making the whole deal with Soun regarding uniting the schools, though frankly that was just something that needed to be done. Continue the schools and line and Art - but women could be awfully emotional and a pain to deal with.
There were other ripples. Akane didn't have to deal with a lot of hormonally addled boys to deal with in the morning, running a gauntlet because of Tatewaki Kuno. Oh, she'd MET Tatewaki Kuno. He attended Saint Hebereke's School For Boys, where they could properly focus on studies instead of dealing with hormonally addled women.
Nabiki had been after Tatewaki Kuno for YEARS. Somehow she'd found his Japanese History notebook (read: managed to snag it while stalking him) and was trying to use it to get herself a date.
