The two Champion digimon began to glow, as they returned to their Rookie forms.
“Man, that was so cool!” cried Dalimon, as he hopped around. “We are so bad!”
Ryudamon sighed, as she walked over towards her partner. “Really, must you be so juvenile?” she asked.
Ranma just looked at the Monochromon, as they slowly got up. “You guys wanna keep fighting?” he asked.
The first one up shook his head, before bowing as much as he could. With that, they all began to walk back towards the mountains at the center of the island, no longer wishing to be here.
“I think that means we won,” said Nabiki.
“Monochromon love to fight,” said Ryudamon, “but I think they were under Saberdramon’s control. So I doubt they want to continue fighting now.”
“HELLO DOWN THERE!”
The small group looked up, spotting a reddish firebird digimon that resembled Saberdramon, and a giant ... bug. “More enemies?” growled Ranma, as he fell into a defensive stance.
“Aren’t those humans on them?” asked Dalimon.
Nabiki smiled. At last, a sign of people who might have a clue what was going on, and where on Earth they were.
Her hopes were soon dashed, as the new children knew even less than she did.
“Unfortunately,” said Tai, “we haven’t been able to find much on anything on the island, except for more digimon.”
“That’s File Island for you,” said Dalimon, as he munched on the leftovers that Ranma was reheating.
“This is very tasty,” said Mimi.
“Better than birdseed,” mumbled Joe.
“Thanks,” said Ranma smiling, as she prepared some more food. It was nice to have people complementing her cooking skill.
“Why’s your hair red now?” asked T.K.
“Oh,” said Nabiki, “Curse of Jusenkyo, Spring of Drowned Girl.”
Izzy blinked. “Curses aren’t real, there’s no scientific basis for it.”
“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy,” said Nabiki. “Besides, I seriously doubt science can explain a lot about this place.”
Ranma nodded, as she poured the hot water over her head, and changed back to her birth gender of male.
“And how’d you get that?” asked Sora.
“Idiot father, a trip to China, and not listening to the Guide,” said Ranma.
“O ... kay,” said Tai, as he dug into his meal. “So what are you guys going to do now?” he asked.
“We should stick together,” said Matt. “It’s not safe to wonder around on our own.”
Ranma just scratched his head. “Well, we were planning to head to the top of Infinity Mountain. Something that high, you should be able to see for a ways out, maybe even see land.”
Nabiki nodded. “Besides, we’re probably on some other world or dimension. None of the stars match what Ranma-kun here knows.”
“You sure?” asked Joe.
Ranma nodded. “Traveled with my Old Man a lot. Got to know how to move around by the stars,” he said. “Even got a monk to teach me the ones for the Southern hemisphere,” he added with a smile.
“You’re taking this quite well,” said Mimi.
Ranma shrugged. “Nothing new,” he said.
“This guy’s kinda weird,” whispered Sora to Tai, who nodded.
“But he makes a great stew,” smiled the goggle-headed member of their team.
Matt slowly nodded. “How about we go together; safety in numbers,” he said.
Nabiki nodded, turning her head slightly to see the digimon each enjoying their meal as well. How the hell did he make enough for everyone? “Sure, I don’t see why not.”
“Maybe we’ll find someway to get back home,” said T.K., as he finished his bowl. “Can I have some more?” he asked with a smile.
Ranma nodded, as he filled the boy’s bowl from the giant cauldron he had pulled out of nowhere, much to the amazement of those around him.
“I still want to know how he did that,” muttered Izzy, not accepting it was ‘pretty simple once you knew how’.
Joe was just looking towards the mountain, his own thoughts not of what was happening, but what hadn’t happened; namely Gomamon’s digivolution, and the fact that he should be taking on more leadership, being the oldest.
Nodding his head, he mentally finished his plan for later that night.
