CC Pokegirls: Power Of Popularity.... [Episode 182423]

by Kender

Ranma really didn't like shopping all that much.

To him, it was mainly just something that was useful in getting items that would be needed. If the strap of one's pack snapped off, then that person would have a reason to go and buy a new one. He could admit to a bit of pleasure at being able to browse through certain sorts of items, like comic books, since they were things that he could have fun with. But unlike poking through the toy aisle at a store, most shopping hadn't been all that fun, even when way back when he first set out with his old man on a training journey.

"Perhaps we could get some drinks as well," Ami murmured, half to herself.

Hotaru looked a bit silly as she waddled to try and not drag the shopping bag on the floor or trip over it. "Don't worry. It's okay...."

"Ooooh...." eerily chorused Rei and Minako as the pair stood with their palms plastered onto a store window, and their jaws hanging open as they stared at a sale sign. "Chicken...."

"Isn't that so cute?" Usagi asked as she looked at a toy on sale.

"Look! Racing magazines!" She might have been a tomboy in behavior and tastes, but by the way that she was looking to browse through the magazines, there were parts of Haruka that were 'traditionally feminine'.

As he watched his pokegirls go about the market like it was an amusement park, Ranma sighed, and wondered if it was too late to run back to the house.

Not that the people of the market seemed to actually mind. The truth of it was that they were rather familiar with little children enjoying the opportunity to race between their shops. These particular kids were actually better received than many due to the fact that they were actually rather behaved in comparison to some of the brats that had come by. If the children had tails and pointed ears, it didn't really make anyone mind all that much.

Kimiko found that to be rather odd though, as she would have expected someone to be put out about the sight of strange children in the area. Sure, she knew that there was no reason to be afraid of them, but she didn't exactly to make of the fact that not one person seemed to be 'wierded out' by their appearance.

In fact, Mrs. Yamada from the bakery seemed to have no problem with going up to a certain pair of poultry enjoying pokegirls, leaning down, and smiling at them. "You two really like chicken, don't you?"

It took a moment for her words to penetrate Rei and Minako's minds, but when it did, they turned their heads to her as one, looked up at her with big eyes, and nodded.

"I thought so. But then, you're those pokegirls, aren't you?"

Another shared nod came from the pair.

"Oh, how wonderful! The pokegirls from the television are here!"

Those words seemed to either confirm the decisions that people had made, or attracted new interest. Whatever the exact reason was, it had a very simple effect. People started coming over in groups as word started to spread that they had 'celebrities' in their midst.

"You're so adorable!"

The man from the fish market grinned. "Looks like they're getting their nutrition!"

"Anyone have a camera?" asked the woman from the fruit stand.

Another woman clapped her hands together. "Isn't this a wonderful thing to have happen?"

"Can we get an autograph?" asked a little boy who leaned in towards Haruka.

"Yeah!" went a couple of children who had gotten through the press of bodies.

The pokegirls blushed, waved, and even, in Haruka's case, oddly enough, posed.

Ranma found that he really wasn't too keen on shopping.

For her part, Kimiko wasn't too sure as to how she felt about the situation, but she knew that she needed to do something about the growing group of people, while:
