"Yup," said Faroush/Ranma. "Ryoga here can find trouble. He just needs something so he doesn't get caught in his cursed form and end up on a menu."
"This does what, exactly?" asked Ryoga as the Rune Mage began enscribing something on his right hand.
"Basic Fire Rune," said the Rune Mage. "Allow you to generate flames. You can use it for an attack."
"Or you can just generate a flame, heat water whenever you need to," said Faroush.
"Besides, if they see the pig has a Rune, they'll assume it's someone's pet as a food animal wouldn't have a Rune applied," said Sialeeds. "I must say, Faroush, you're getting better at thinking ahead."
"So, how do you know this... person?" asked Lym, for what seemed like the thirtieth time.
"Ryoga? I've heard about him, and actually this guy," said Faroush, figuring out a way to say without saying he was Ranma, "we've never met before. I've just heard all about him on my little forays into the city."
Ryoga frowned. He hadn't been in the city long enough to acquire a reputation. Had he? Maybe he'd gotten lost here longer than he'd thought.
Ryoga focussed instead on the odd symbol transferred to his hand. "Okay. I guess."
"Since Father wants me to go to Stormfist, it's only proper to send someone ahead," said Faroush/Ranma. "Kyle, take Ryoga. If someone asks you why you've got the pig - tell 'em it's a cute animal sidekick and girls go for those kinda things."
"That's true," said Kyle, nodding thoughtfully. "I wouldn't have expected you to know such things though."
"Hey, havin' people underestimate you gives you that much more advantage," said Faroush. "Nobody expects much of the poor little princeling, if ya've noticed."
Lym winced, as it hadn't been that long ago that had been HER attitude.
Kyle nodded again. "Huh."
Ryoga was currently a puzzled-looking black piglet. "Bwee?"
"As far as any official role is concerned, yer just going ahead to check out a few things," said Faroush.
"Like what?" asked Kyle.
"Uhm, don't know," said Faroush/Ranma. "See what you can come up with."
Kyle nodded. He had just the excuse. Prince was old enough now, they were going to have to cut certain rumors short - that meant he'd have to be seen where appreciation of feminine charms was done. He knew just the place.
