Then, perhaps, he could use the same abilities to defeat Akane and at last the fair maiden would overcome her stubborn insistence and become his girlfriend.
Yes, he was set to become a true power within Nerima now.
The Sorcerer watched the fool go swaggering off and returned to stirring his cauldron's contents. Which was not, as one might expect, a sorcerous concoction. It was actually stew, and he was looking forward to being able to sample prime Kobe beef from it.
As to the fool, his transformation was exactly as advertised. With him able to transform into a bug-warrior, his strength was increased by almost a hundredfold. He had chiton-armor that would make him nearly invulnerable to impact damage. His spikes contained poison injectors which could paralyze his prey. That he looked like a Bugrom was of no matter.
The payment for this power was quite simple, and typical of such demonic empowerments. The boy would lose his humanity, a little more with every transformation, until he was a Revenant in the same army as Lord McCoy.
The Sorcerer sniffed at the stew and added another log to the fire underneath it. Almost done.
Night at the Tendo place, and Ranma went off by himself to check his equipment. His Torajin costume was something designed by other people, starting out with the JLA and finishing off with the Titans. It was lightweight, had a lighter and tougher material than kevlar with plates of stronger armor, and incorporated a few useful gadgets in the thick bracers and leggings. There was also the utility belt with a selection of sometimes odd gadgetry. It also had the camouflage equipment that allowed him to change the color scheme on the fly. Normally yellow with black stripes. The black stripes didn't change, but he could shift the bulk of the rest to a few colors. Didn't always work, as he recalled there were only a few colors it could shift to. Still, a black-on-black at night or in dark shadows was a fairly common choice. When he flicked back to normal coloration, some people reacted as if he'd just teleported in.
His fight with Akane had been interesting in several respects. Not the least of which had been when she'd done that double-handed piledriver and practically triggered an earthquake.
He was used to fighting superhuman opponents, but he couldn't see how he could defeat Akane without going all out. She'd actually made him take her seriously as an opponent because her strength was really up there, and she'd shrugged off a nerve strike that SHOULD have disabled one arm.
A set of old brass knuckles was scrutinized. If the changes to Akane were any indication - he should keep this handy. Heck, he might have to get out those copper kunei and invoke their lightning magic to defeat someone like Mikado if he had Akane's level of strength and toughness.
Ranma put the things quickly away in the locking suitcase, sensing someone approaching in the darkness.
