In many worlds they would attend a Junior High (or Middle) School that was an all boys school. A rivalry would begin. Ryoga would challenge Ranma, get lost and miss the challenge, then follow Ranma to China. Ryoga would get cursed at Jusenkyo, and the rivalry would become hatred. Further rivalry would develop over Akane Tendo. Eventually some reconciliation would come about, particularly after Ryoga met Akari Unryuu.
In many worlds, the particulars were a little different. Ryoga might have shown up three days late for the challenge, or four, or sixteen. Ryoga might end up getting cursed to turn into a little black pig, a wolf, a rat, a six foot tall chicken, or even a rutabaga.
In this Chained World, Ryoga had (no surprise) attended a series of all boys schools. He still had problems finding his way. He still had trained hard to become the toughest and strongest, to be able to crush those who made fun of him. His path had still crossed that of one Ranma Saotome, but there had been no bread dispute. Ranma had not been to Jusenkyo, but Ryoga had ended up getting cursed nonetheless.
