The young man next to him let an expression of disbelief fall across his features. ""I dunno, I'm still looking for the camera. I'm guessing it's another lame 'reality TV' show and they're looking to freak ordinary types out."
"You think so?"
"Why not? They've already tried practical jokes...."
"But a lot of people do those...."
"Well, I'm not about to take anything about that at face value," muttered the second man. "I mean, it could be just about anything."
"I don't know. I, for one, would think that it might be... interesting to have something mysterious happening nearby," interjected a young women, shifting her long legs so that they peeked out of the slit in her cheongsam's skirt.
"You would?"
"Sure. After all, it might be something fun, and liven things up."
"You could certainly do that...."
"Hmmm?"
"He means that you seem like you'd enjoy that," the first young man said quickly, his eyes reflecting his panic as he came to his companion's defense.
Nodding, the second youth grinned a little too widely. "Yeah!"
Glancing over at the trio, an older woman gave a quiet snort. Children these days didn't have any shame, acting so forward, and didn't even seem to be able to take care of their own children. Adjusting the broad sleeves of her own outfit so that they hung appropriately, she sniffed and turned her attention away from the absurdities of youth.
Getting away from the bus was something that Genma felt good about, but he wasn't exactly swimming in praise for his situation. As it stood, he had a son who was suffering through some unknown ailment, the world didn't seem to be quite right, and now a whole crowd of people had noticed that something was a bit off about them. And now he had to deal with trying to keep unnoticed in a place where he didn't know exactly what would be considered 'out of the ordinary'.
Genma basically felt like there was some sort of cosmic joke being played upon him at that moment in time.
Still, he'd never been one to simply sit on his backside when his judgement told him that it was time to act. Of course, that mostly happened when he was getting into trouble, and needed to keep himself on course, and his previously mentioned rear from getting used for target practice. So, he needed to do something, but it was starting to become apparent that things wouldn't go for him quite as they had before.
Keeping that in mind, and holding his son under one of his arms, he looked for a place to stop and take stock of what he had open to him, while:
