Ranma did another step-leap, seeming to negate gravity for the most part. "Hey, Hotaru? I was hoping YOU knew why I ended up wearing this costume."
"N-no," said Hotaru.
"I see, well, here's the school, see ya later," said Ranma, leaping away.
Hotaru watched him go. He seemed to know her. She was wearing a strange uniform.
Meanwhile, she had transformed back from Sailor Saturn to Hotaru Tomoe but had no idea as to how things were different here. Could she even transform?
Well, best to see what she could find out first. That meant looking for the library and checking it out.
"That's one of them," said the Dean. "Ah, so much paperwork."
"It's a good thing so much of it magically fills itself out," said Takamichi gently. "There's no telling what problems they could cause if we didn't try to fit them in."
"Well, it's not a perfect fit by any means," said the Dean. "We had to do this with the others and it's just a temporary measure."
"Well, Ranma seems to be fitting in well, though what's with that outfit? It almost looks like a pactio costume?" asked the woman present. "Some sort of connection between the two and an effect of the scrambling timestreams?"
"We'll have to see," said Takamichi with a shrug.
Ranma found his normal outfit returning and stopped atop the roof of a building near his school.
As soon as he'd seen that girl in trouble, his outfit had transformed. Which looked like one of those 'pactio' outfits. Of course, he'd recognized that girl as Hotaru but he was having trouble remembering how he'd known her. She was kind of his friend, wasn't she? There had been food involved, he was pretty sure that a raspberry tort had been involved.
When he'd first been passing through this school, having ditched the old man, he'd thought it just a weirdly huge school. Then he'd seen one gal ninja-training. A set of combat robots being tried out. Martial artists using strange techniques he'd never seen before.
Naturally, this had intrigued the heck out of him.
He had become aware of various things in the past two weeks. One being that this was somehow a different world that he'd fallen to, and that that dream of falling had been other than a dream. He was also aware that some of the martial artists were actually wizards, about pactio, and how that kid-teacher was gonna get turned into a stoat if it became public knowledge.
He wanted to learn some of those martial arts special manuevers and things though. He was going to stick around until he did. Even if that Evangeline gal scared him on some fundamental level and the times he'd tried to fight her had been rather educational. Yes, he could beat her in a purely martial arts fight during the day - especially in the early afternoon when she seemed sleepy. At night? Particularly with a full moon and the barriers holding her powers weren't as tight? He'd nearly gotten killed.
Of course, Chachamaru wasn't a slouch either and she was Evangeline's bodyguard. Ever since he'd shattered one of her arms in that one fight, he and the robo-girl hadn't gotten along. Which was a pity, as he had a healthy respect for anyone who could fly and launch missiles.
Fei Ku was pretty good, Mana was pretty competent even if her martial arts used weapons, Chao Lingshen gave him the serious creeps for some reason. Makie was a really nice girl but there was something creepy about Rhythmic Gymnastics Martial Arts that Ranma wasn't too sure about. And that was just class 2-A at the girl's school. There was some serious creepiness going on in HIS class.
