At least, that was part of why Yuka was currently reading a copy of 'Practical Spellcasting'. Being able to cast spells could be useful, and would increase her value to her Master. She didn't want to impress him so that he'd be floored, but she did like him, and helping him out was something that she did want to do.
"Getting a better handle on that stuff?" Sayuri asked, raising a brow over her knitting.
Yuka gave her fellow slave a small shrug. "I think so, but I'm not sure about which way it's going to take me."
"Well, it's not like you have a teacher for that stuff."
"Yeah, but I'm not aiming to be some sort of major magician. I mean, if I could just be able to pull off a healing spell, or fix a cup, it might be useful."
"You're right about that...."
"What?" the long haired girl asked, frowning slightly. "Don't tell me that you think that I should be studying something else?"
"Oh, no, it's not that."
"What is it then?"
"I was just remembering what else we've been reading."
It took Yuka a moment to realize just what the other girl meant, and when she did, a deep red colored her cheeks.
Of course, being curious young women, the concept of pouring over a copy of the 'Art of Seduction' wasn't exactly out of the question, but it wasn't exactly the sort of thing that one announced to the heavens. Rather, it was something snuck in through little bites as their understanding and embarrassment allowed them to do so.
As it was, they were not aiming to be sex slaves by any stretch of the imagination. That sort of thing was only guaranteed in the daydreams of horny teenaged boys and other hormonal idiots, and the girls knew that. Rational thinking simply told the person considering it that only a fraction of the slaves were going to be full use, and only a percentage of the rest would be willing to be intimate with another. It was just in the fantasies of those who were too caught up in such things that they could get a school girl who would be automatically available for sex, be they school 'idol' or regular classmate.
Sayuri and she might not have been the most desired girls in school, but they were certainly not ugly by any means of comparison. Combiing that with the stereotypical ideas that went with considering schoolgirls, they would have likely been able to find an owner who would find them appealing easily enough. However, they were not sex slaves, and were not about to lift their skirts for just any guy around.
They did have a really cute owner who they liked a lot, and found appealing though. Being teenaged girls, they were curious about such things, and did wonder about what it would be like to be with him in such a way. The problem was that they didn't really have experience in kissing and hand holding, never mind even undressing in the presence of a guy. So, they'd gone for sneaking in peeks at the book, trying to figure out if that stuff would really work, and if it did, just what it would be like.
Glancing up from her book, Yuka stared hard at the clock, while:
