Setsuna's Fault: Little FUBAR, in G minor [Episode 187896]

by Kestral

Setsuna Meiou, aka Sailor Pluto, took a few minutes for her mind to reboot.

No Earth. No planet. No Crystal Tokyo. No Sailor Senshi. No Ranma (though that HAD been her goal). No Mamoru Chiba.

No, wait. There WAS something there.

The worldlet was about one sixth the size of the Earth, and lacked many of the features one would expect to find if one had expected to find the Earth. No oceans. Lots of shallow lakes. No forests. No greenery to speak of. Vast ruins.

Sailor Pluto took a closer look. Skeletons. Vampires. Zombies. A huge sprawling citadel of some sort. No air, no movement. While the undead soldiers might not have needed air to continue functioning, the magical fields that had nourished and maintained them had changed sufficiently when the exchange had taken place that it had served the same function.

"RANMA SAOTOME, THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!"

Shouting that at the Gates Of Time had done absolutely nothing to fix the situation, though it HAD let her feel a little better.

Sailor Pluto went to a cabinet that was normally hidden in the mists, opened a false bottom, and took out a bottle of Romulan Whiskey (more potent than Romulan Ale) before pouring herself a glass. Regarding it briefly, she then began drinking from the bottle instead - leaving the glass untouched.

There had been a certain understandable reaction to seeing the multi-colored band of lightning marching across the sky.

Panic. Disbelief. "Phil, ya gotta come look at this."

The crack in space/time had not remained stationary. The Earth had been moving, going through the rift at thirty kilometers per second (30km/s) and at its usual 24hour rotational speed. Because of the size of the Earth, it would have taken roughly seven minutes for the entire planet to go entirely through the crack had not the crack itself been moving - cutting it down to five minutes and thirty seven seconds.

For those on the nightside, it was even more dramatic. As the band of lightning passed, the stars were wiped from the sky.

Then events began occurring which made things going on around the observer rather more in need of attention than looking skyward.
