Originally, they were quite obvious about their origins, as the first ones had been made of metal and plastic, though they were made in quite appealing... shapes. This was dealt with somewhat by the movement towards more realistic looks by the immediately subsequent designs, but those still retained some sort of 'mark', such as an access port, that reminded those around them that they were a machine. It was with the advent of units that were so human-like that they even included involuntary 'reactions' like goosebumps and dilating pupils.
Soon, they were showing up everywhere there was a casino, as they appealed to men looking to enjoy themselves, flirted with customers with ease, and could even be outfitted to watch for potential cheaters. They came in all sorts of varieties, with many skin tones, hair colors, and personalities coming into play, though most fell in looking like young women in their late teens or twenties. Basic uniform of corsets, high heels and bunny ears were always present, with varieties coming in the fabric, usually satin, and what they wore on their legs, including full stockings, fishnets, hose, and thigh highs. Some units were even outfitted to add on to the tasks that they could do, like being able to dispense chips or drinks, or having 'full' interaction with humans.
As such, it had become quite usual to see their long legged figures walking about with their breasts jiggling appealingly and a wiggle to tempt customers to pat them where their uniforms didn't cover their backsides.
They were not as Gambler Bunnygirl 20417, who was currently pinching the bridge of her nose in a rather human show of exasperation, meant to do much of any sort of 'combat' work. "Do you really think that this will work?"
"Of course it will," Medbot 4095102-90456-817, a.k.a 'Doctor Wile-E' told her. "What makes you think that it won't?"
"Other than the fact that you've been remodeling bunnygirl units to be spies and rapid attack units, nothing...."
"See?"
"You do realize that the girls weren't exactly built for heavy lifting in the first place, never mind fighting."
"Much can be done to adapt them to their new roles. Besides, they were made with certain advantages over human women."
"I'd hardly call being designed to walk in heels without any problems, or some having chests like volleyballs really big helps," she retorted, crossing her arms over her own large, but still realistically proportioned cleavage.
"You concern yourself too much with petty details. I am in possession of a database that allows me to do any number of procedures on a moments notice."
"So says the medbot who hasn't had a patient for decades."
Doctor Wile-E turned to give her a level look. "This will work. All that will be needed will be a simple snatching of the humaniform. The units only have to slip past the defenses, appropriate the humaniform, and return with him here. Then his preservation can be worked upon."
"And they will be helping you in that?" Gambler Bunnygirl 20417 asked, waving a hand at the bunnygirls in the 'upgrade' tubes.
"Certainly. They will have something on their side."
"Like what?"
"The fact that they are females to his male. Your own creation was based on the determination that male humans react well to the appearance of a human female."
She gave him a flat look. "Yeah, but the kid is exactly that. A child. And I seriously doubt that any of us are really 'maternal' looking."
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"I guess that answers my question."
"Then that is it then?"
"Well, I do have to wonder about one thing in particular."
"And that is...."
"Just why do you look like a coyote with a mustache standing on his hind legs?"
"A happenstance that does not bear repeating," Wile-E replied in his accented tones, brushing aside any real answer as he turned his sizable muzzle away from her, while:
