Fox Out of Konoha: Jutsus...You Can't Learn Just One [Episode 188742]

by The SOC Puppet

“Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!”

Uzumaki Naruto tried and failed to suppress a foxy grin. Damn, that felt good to hear in stereo. So what if he couldn’t do a stinking regular Bunshin? Now he could pass the Genin Test anyway – and use the clone to knock out any jackass who tried to get in his way!

But why stop there? The scroll Mizuki-sensei had told him about was huge, bigger around than anything the Academy had in its library – not that anybody had ever let him get past the doorway of it. The more jutsus he learned now, the faster he could get promoted, and start taking missions on his own. Knowing Iruka-sensei, they’d probably make him team up with that jackass Sasuke as a Genin. Naruto was not exactly looking forward to it.

Heck, maybe if I learn the entire scroll I can jump past Genin altogether!

Naruto had never known the meaning of the word “limits.” Then again, he didn’t know the meaning of a lot of words, as trying to read the name of the second jutsu would show.

“Hmm…let’s see. Hi…hira…Hiraishin no Jutsu. S-Rank. When mastered, the user can move at speeds even faster than Shunshin no Jutsu.”

This was immediately followed by an entire paragraph in bold letters, containing words Naruto had never even heard of, much less read before. Had he been able to understand it, it might have given even him pause.

WARNING: The following equations have not been perfected. I could only get them to work properly by engraving them into inanimate objects and “summoning” myself to those objects, such as kunai. The consequences of directly using incomplete equations and hand seals could be catastrophic. I have stopped biomatter experiments until such time as the formula can be finished. Hiraishin no Jutsu is therefore:
SEALED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
By the order of the Fourth Hokage
On this seventh day of the sixth month
Of the second year of His term

Naruto was not one to learn from a lecture – Iruka could bear witness to that. He was, however, an untapped genius at learning from experience and visualization. The Fourth might have sealed the Hiraishin no Jutsu, but that hadn’t kept him from including all of his data on the jutsu in the Sealed Scroll – including some very detailed pictures of the needed space and time manipulation formulas and hand seals.

Naruto couldn’t grasp the concept of quantum mechanics – indeed, he had trouble pronouncing just the name. But he could pantomime the hand seals and visualize himself reciting the quantum formulas.

In another universe, perhaps, someone might have arrived fast enough to distract him and stop the process. But Mizuki was nowhere to be found, having fallen in with the mob in front of the Hokage’s office; unable to break off himself for fear of giving his plan away. Iruka, too, was missing; trying to track Naruto by following Mizuki had led him to the mob scene as well. The Third himself could have found Naruto at that moment in his crystal ball, had he not been outside trying to calm his people.

So it was that nobody was there to stop Naruto from attempting the Hiraishin no Jutsu and:
