“I want one!” screamed Haruka like a manga-obsessed fan girl as the mechanic finished describing the changes that had taken what looked like a common street bike and equipped it with enough fire power to level a small battalion.
Nabiki just smiled. Some people were just too easy to predict.
“Can we get back-salary?” asked Minako with a hopeful voice.
“Sorry, no,” said Sakura, walking up with several forms. “That money went to repair and rebuild areas destroyed in your battles.”
“We were saving people!” yelled Rei. True, she didn’t exactly want supposed back-pay. Then again, she didn’t want to be blamed for the destruction either.
Sakura shrugged. “No offense, but then you’ll need to explain to the people we chatted with about not suing the Senshi for excessive damages, since the enemies you defeated aren’t alive anymore to participate in the lawsuits.”
“L-l-lawsuits!” squeaked Makoto.
“Do you really think normal insurance policies cover monster attacks, magic girls, and alien invaders?”
“Only in Nerima,” snorted Nabiki.
It was a gathering of some of the most powerful entities on the planet. Daimakaichō Hild, Mara, Belldandy, Urd, Skuld, Bampei, Peorth; and those were just the ones that seemed to linger around the temple.
“I feel very worried,” muttered Keiichi.
“You get used to it,” said Ranma. “Then again, I’ve had this similar meeting about a dozen times, so I’m pretty used to the intimidation factor.”
“You’ve met with Goddesses and Demons before?” asked Urd, feeling skeptical.
“I end up eventually having to have this meeting on every world I go to,” Ranma said, chuckling slightly as he took the tea Belldandy offered.
“Every world?” asked Keiichi.
“Our dear Ranma-kun here is a world-traveler,” said Hild with her usual saucy smile. “As such, he’s undoubtedly met analogs of each and every one of us. Oh, the stories you must have,” she said with a smirk.
“There are other Earths?” asked Keiichi in shock.
“Infinite number,” said Ranma. “I’ve seen a lot of possible worlds, most pretty close to this one, and some so far in one direction or another that it would shock the living hell out of you.”
“So is this your world?” asked Keiichi.
“Afraid not,” said Ranma. “When we arrived, the device we were using to try and locate our world ... failed.”
“Failed?” asked Skuld.
“Failed as in imploded onto itself and took itself out of this reality and all realities, most likely ending up within the Void of Beginnings,” said Ranma.
“Um...”
“The center point of all our existences from which all reality sprung from,” said Ranma.
“Oh.”
“So that means I’ll have two Ranmas,” said Hild with a happy smirk.
Urd just glared at her mother. She didn’t know why the woman was so fascinated with a Ranma, let alone the fact that two of them now existed. But she knew it couldn’t be good.
“May I ask why you have come here to see us, Saotome-kun?” asked Belldandy.
Ranma just smiled and nodded to her. “Of course, you can always ask, Belldandy-sama.”
There was quiet for a few moments.
“Well?” asked Urd.
“Well what?”
“Why did you come here?” she replied.
“Oh, you just had to ask,” he said.
“Big sister did!” yelled Skuld.
“No,” said Ranma, “she asked if she could ask, she never just asked.”
The others just stared, as Hild began to lightly chuckle.
“Anyway, I came to inform you that I am beefing up Section 19.”
The others now stared, eyes wide; including Hild.
“Um ... what’s Section 19?” asked Keiichi.
“Basically a section of Japanese government titled to handle supernatural and extraterrestrial things within our territory and beyond, if the threat levels are sufficiently high enough,” he replied. “I’m not here to do anything to this group,” he said quickly, reading the spike of fear in Keiichi’s eyes. “Just letting the proper authorities know so that we don’t end up stepping on each other’s toes,” he said with a smile.
“Thank you for the tea, Belldandy-sama, we’ll have to do this again.”
“Oh, that would be lovely,” smiled Belldandy. It was so nice to have a guest visit that didn’t end in some weird explosion. Keiichi was starting to get Carpal Tunnel from all of the repairs.
“Ladies, sir,” he said, bowing to the group. “Good day.”
And with a small shimmer of light, he faded away.
“Teleportation?” asked Urd, looking at Skuld.
“I don’t know,” she said quickly, summoning her access terminal to Yggdrasil.
Hild just smirked, as she grabbed Mara and teleported away. He was barely in her presence for an hour, and he was already sowing such great seeds of chaos.
“Oh, he will be seeing me sooner than he thinks.”
