They'd had to bond Jenova to her son by stealing the curse from that boy.
Then they'd had to leave that boy alone. The math didn't lie, and it had been a reluctant decision but inevitable. Now that they were free, they could kill him if their paths crossed again.
Dante considered the two figures in the glowing glass tubes. What possibilities could she create with these two?
"Which one did you want?" asked Kefka, apparently noting his fellow "scientist's" scrutiny.
"The male, I think," said Dante after consideration. She'd need a new body eventually, but for experimental purposes she was inclined to play with the male's structure.
Kefka laughed, drawing a pained look from Dante, as he considered the clay he had to work with.
Ami was blind, and asleep in a cabin on a snow-covered mountain. It was very picturesque.
Which was one reason she was a little surprised to be seeing it. Sort of. She was getting silhouettes and the colors seemed off.

Watching through this odd dream was tiring though, and she turned back towards the bed when she stumbled again, banging her knee against the bedframe. Wincing at the pain and sudden return of darkness, Ami was almost back under the covers before she realized what was wrong with this picture.
