What he did have to wonder about was just why that one girl had seemed to be that annoyed with him. Near as he could tell, he hadn't really done anything to get that 'Rei' girl mad at him, but she was upset over something. It could have been about how he'd accidentally 'kissed' her friend, but then he wouldn't quite blame her for being angry, even if it went over the top. On the other hand, perhaps it was the fact that he'd intruded on their secret place. Heck, he even wondered for a moment about comments that he'd heard about girls getting mad over not being paid attention to.
Whatever the reason, he wasn't stupid, wasn't expendable, and wasn't sticking around. To do so would keep him around where she could turn her anger on him again, and he didn't want to have to dodge blasts of fire again, thank you very much.
Not that he was planning on running away like a dog with its tail between its legs. Now that he'd found that 'entrance', he wasn't about to give up on his plans just quite yet.
He did have to wonder about what that pretty, if pissed off, girl was doing at the moment, though.
"Well, what do you plan on doing now?" Michiru asked, looking over at the other girl with her.
Rei scowled slightly, but looked supremely confident. "What else? I'm going to put a fire under him to get him to go where he's got to go."
"Interesting idea."
"Just that?"
"You don't know where he is, do you?" the green haired girl asked, raising a brow. "And he's already escaped once."
"That was only a bit of luck on his part. The next time we meet, I'll get him for sure!"
"I see...."
"What is it?"
Trying to come up with some sort of gentle way to put it, the older girl thought hard for a moment. But she found that her normal elegance had been... blunted for the moment. "You really should accept that it might not be such a simple task."
"Yeah, right. He's just a guy, after all. And an outsider one at that."
"Who might be from a clan with powers of its own."
"Even then, how could he match someone from our village? I mean, think about it. We probably can train better here than anywhere else on the planet. He's probably had to make do with what they had available," the raven haired girl scoffed, taking a long sniff as she finished.
"I suppose that you could find him...."
"I'm going to have to, right?"
"That is what you volunteered for, but...."
"It looks like it'll be easier than I thought," Rei interrupted, ignoring Michiru's look of surprise and dismay as a tree branch rustled against the movement of the wind. "Guess he thought that he could sneak back!"
"But that's...."
"Too simple to not be easily dealt with. HA!"
"Not what I meant," the green haired girl groaned as she saw a burst of fire hit where the branch had been moving.
"Huh?"
"That wasn't Ranma."
"It wasn't?" Rei asked dully, turning to where a dark shape had fallen from the tree and thumped into the ground. "If it wasn't him, who was it?"
"Well, it's actually...."
"Me," growled a familiar voice as a soot covered and leaf adorned Haruka dragged herself out of the bush that she'd fallen into to stand up again.
"You? But...."
"You hit her with your attack," Michiru confirmed.
"I came here to check up on how things were going. If I needed to help, I could be there. Had he been too much for you, I would have taken over. And if you'd already succeeded, I'd have helped you bring him back. However, I have a different thought in my head," Haruka muttered, cracking her knuckles as she spoke. "You and I are going to have a little... 'chat'."
"Eeep," squeaked Rei as the reality of what the blonde was saying hit home, and she realized that she was in a heap of trouble.
Sighing, Michiru stopped and wondered about just how this was turning into a mess, while:
