Out at the Danfighters, the Dangaioh team along with Hunk and Pidge were going over the huge fighters. They were making sure that they were fully repaired and properly tuned. Pidge took some tests and shook his head at some readings he was getting from a device he had with him.
"The fighters are at one-hundred percent, but there is something off about them," Pidge stated.
"They do respond to our telepathic commands," Pai replied in amusement.
"Maybe, but there is something else. It's probably nothing important. I really have no idea what Doctor Tarsan intended when he built the fighter craft," Pidge said.
Turning off the scanner, Pidge put it down and looked at the four. "You craft are in perfect shape and don't need any repairs. We are going to have to find someplace to store them though."
"Where did you keep your craft back then?" Hunk asked.
"There were four fighter slots on board the DalDal. Our fighters were attached to the slots and a tube connected to the cockpit of each fighter. That way the fighters would be protected from the elements. The force field of the DalDal protected the Danfighters during space travel," Mia replied with a shrug. "When we launched from the DalDal, it looked like an X was formed with the DalDal at center point."
"That explains some of the marks on your craft," Pidge said. "I'm not sure we can duplicate that. However, I think we can make use of an old building. From what Princess Allura has said, it used to be a storage bunker for some sort of non-food farm product. I'm thinking it was a lumber yard or a place to store bags of wool."
"Well, let's go find out if we can use it first," Mia said.
After a bit of discussion with the Allura, they found out that the building was abandoned and that they could use it to store the fighters. The Dangaioh team used their links to their respective Danfighter to get the craft into the building and under shelter. After doing so, the Dangaioh team was asked to talk with Nanny.
"What did you want to talk with us about?" Mia asked.
"You need more clothes than what you have on your backs," Nanny replied.
"We didn't have much variation in our clothes. Roll is wearing his variation of the formal outfit that we all used to have. Other than a few articles of clothing that could slip over what we are wearing now, we only wore duplicates of what we are wearing now. One of the minor improvements that Tarsan did to us is that we generate a low level ionization field. We and our clothes are kept clean," Mia replied. "I think that we only had at most five sets of clothes each."
"That's crazy," Nanny said.
Mia cocked her head to the side and smiled a bit. "Remember that Tarsan was trying to convince us that we were all androids that he built. We have a few abilities that if we didn't know better would convince us that we were mechanisms. Even after knowing the truth, we do have compulsions that we follow. Unless we are wearing the formal outfit, we will wear what we are wearing now. Unless it is freezing, we will not wear clothes over our current outfits. When we know that we are entering combat or on a mission, we will not wear clothes over our current outfits."
"Doesn't that bother you?" Nanny asked in a bit of disbelief.
"At times, but we've all gotten used to it. It was just another attempt to convince us that we were machines. We just accept it and save our energy and worry on important stuff," Mia said. "At any rate, if you can show Lanba the fabrics, we can have our formal outfits and Roll can have his normal wear remade."
Nanny nodded. "But won't she need to know your measurements?"
"It's only been a week, since I did the formal outfits last time. I should recall the measurements," Lanba replied.
"I'll go with you. It shouldn't take much to get a copy of my normal wear from whatever they have in their storerooms," Roll said.
Lanba nodded.
As the three of them left, Mia sighed and looked in the direction that she knew Latecia to be in.
"So many minor things that he gave us in order to convince us that we were machines he created," Mia said.
"Yes. However, it makes our lives easier," Pai said.
After a bit of time, Lanba, Roll, and Nanny returned with copies of the formal wear for the girls and Roll had a duplicate of his normal wear. Seeing that there were no formal meetings planned, the girls just put the outifts inside the rooms that they were assigned and Roll changed his outift to a duplicate of his normal wear.
