Implementing new hardware schematics.
Shutting down.
The Mercury Computer’s visor vanished as this last message displayed itself. Ami was still trying to make sense of half the things she’d seen as they’d flicked by. What was that about a laser?
She didn’t have much time to consider this, however, as the Mercury Computer then began to glow.
“It doesn’t normally do that, does it?” asked an anxious Shinobu.
“No. No it doesn’t.” Ami’s calm voice belied her shock. Indeed, she was so surprised that she’d come back the other way into an area of tranquility.
“It’s going to blow!” shouted Haruka, drawing her henshin wand. “Ura—”
“No it isn’t,” remarked Su, scanning the gleaming device with great interest and her own Silver Millennium era computer.
“But it’s glowing!” Haruka insisted. “Everyone knows stuff glows before it explodes!”
“Yes, but not everything that glows explodes afterwards,” reasoned the techie princess. “This is an example thereof.”
“A…Are you sure?” asked Haruka, in tones of hopeless optimism.
“Glow’s goin’ down,” responded Su. Indeed, the Mercury Computer’s shine was fading, leaving a slightly larger, more rounded device. Now more than ever, the palmtop resembled a Nintendo DS.
Ami hesitantly hit the power button, which had apparently become the only physical button on the Computer.

Manifesting holovisor…
The familiar blue visor was, like its source, a bit more dynamically curvaceous, but was otherwise unchanged. The pad of vaguely defined buttons had been replaced by a touchscreen that seemed to shift to different button sets depending on what software was active. Ami performed a few experimental scans and found the speed thereof almost staggering. No more losing precious seconds during a crisis just to discover precisely what was about to hit her upside the tiara. She also checked the ReadMe file on that laser attachment, You know, just in case. And then there was the expanded encyclopedia…
“It’s official,” declared Makoto. “We’ve lost her.” Indeed, the Senshi of Ice was now totally engrossed in her newly upgraded Compy-chan.
“In any case, can we get back to who’s going where?” asked a testy Setsuna.
“I’d better stay here,” said Ranma. “I ain’t too good with Eng—”
“I’ll stay.” Makoto and Minako glared at each other after their simultaneous statement.
“If we’re going by language, Mina-chan would be perfect,” Makoto said to the room in general.
“Those staying would just be facing the landlord’s grandmother. Mako-chan’s talents would go to waste,” explained Minako, apparently to the staircase.
"I wouldn’t poison that dear, sweet woman with my cooking, Mina-chan.”
“I wouldn’t risk crushing her under my gigantic frame, Mako-chan.”
The two glared at each other (with actual sparks flying off Makoto,) before Ranma said, “Y’ can always both stay if y’ want. Kinda th’ whole point a ‘go where ya want,’ right?”
“Exactly,” said both girls.
“Well, I would greatly enjoy going…where we are headed,” said Michiru.
“I don’t know…” Haruka said hesitantly.
“I heard there’s a motorcycle exhibit nearby,” the violinist said invitingly.
“Do you really think I’m that easy?” huffed her partner.
Michiru turned to the Time Senshi, seeming to drop the previous conversation. “Setsuna, do you think we’ll be stopping for multiple days?”
The other green-haired woman considered this. “Well, considering the time zone change, it would probably be a good idea.”
“Can you manage at least two rooms at the hotel?”
Setsuna caught on. She gave a knowing grin. “Certainly.”
Michiru proceeded to whisper something to Haruka. The play of emotions on the racer’s face was truly fascinating. When the Senshi of Neptune left her lover’s ear, said lover was grinning madly. “I’d be nuts not to go!” she declared.
“I’ll stay,” Usagi, Rei, and Hotaru all said immediately afterward. Motoko found herself wishing her attendance wasn’t needed. Shinobu was relieved for largely the same reason.
“Hotaru, you’ll have to come,” Michiru insisted. “Both your guardians are going.”
“Are they ever…” muttered Haruka, drool beginning to show.
“Can’t I stay with Makoto?”
“No. Besides, it will be educational.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of…”
