This was certainly not something that Ranma had expected, so he was momentarily startled before noting that he'd not been the target. At which point, rather than stay there and argue with the crazy eyepatch-girl he'd already grabbed Melfina and begun moving at high speed.
He was not faster than a speeding bullet, but he could handle tight corners a lot better.
Idly some portion of his mind noted the presence of ninja. This situation began interesting him a lot more, but the first thing to do was get Melfina to safety. THEN he could figure out the situation.
A ninja jumped out, directly in front of him. A normal person would have shied away or stopped. Ranma simply leapt over, using a spin kick in mid-leap to tag the obstacle, then continued on his way.
Melfina blinked a lot, looking over Ranma's shoulder at the ninja lying in the alley.
"Ah, here's a good place," said Ranma after two more turns and a leap up to the third floor balcony of some shopping plaza.
Melfina blinked again as they entered:
