Ranma was walking next to his father Genma, who was currently looking like he was up to his old tricks again, and Ranma was thinking about his wife waiting for him in Tokyo. Usa was a very special and lovable woman in Ranma's mind that he was proud to call his wife. True Ranma hadn't mentioned that he was married to Genma but then again, the less that Genma knew about Ranma's life meant that there were fewer things that Genma could mess up. Besides Ranma's mother, who Ranma and Usa had first discovered on one of their more crazy adventures before they were married, had given Ranma and Usa's marriage her staunch approval.
When he had first met Usa in high school Ranma hadn't really paid her too much attention. Of course back then girls were completely off of Ranma's radar as the girls at the school weren't martial artists. Usa had been able through her steady acts of friendship and kindness to work her way into Ranma's everyday life at the school. Once the two of them had started to interact with each other regularly at school Ranma was left wanting to know more about Usa.
Of course, by the time that Ranma had realized that he was interested in Usa he was also confronted by several other girls for his attention. At times the situation between the various girls after Ranma got rather intense but Usa was the inevitable winner of Ranma's heart. There was a level of depth to Usa that just didn't exist in the other girls of the school. Just beyond the caring, lovable, and beautiful young woman that was Usa existed an indomitable will and a sharp intellect. It was that inner strength and character that had been the spark to fan the flames of desire in Ranma's heart.
Usa was a woman would could put up with the crazy things that happened around Ranma and not break. Personally Ranma figured that Usa's ability to cope with the craziness of his life came from the fact that her life was already very crazy. After all, how many girls can deal with living in the past before their parents got married, tackle the crazy adventures that occurred in the school at least once a week, fight off the monster of the week and still manage to pull a B+ average?
The fact that Usa was actually a princess from the 30th century didn't really bother Ranma. He was completely confused as to how Usa could be in the past without causing a paradox but Ranma didn't try to give it too much thought. Usa was able to be here in this time frame to be with him and that was all that truly mattered to Ranma.
